Ya see, this is another thing that is wrong with boxing. THE FANS!!!

You have champions that go YEARS without fighting a single meaningful fighter. You have terrible organizations that are so corrupt that they set up fights with b level fighters as "mandatories" and ignore unification bouts and all too often put undeserving challengers and leave deserving ones to wait and hope.

And then there are fighters like Jermaine Taylor.

He was a young up and coming lion and he got a shot that he took advantage of (just for the record, I feel he barely lost the first one and the second was a draw) vs Hopkins. Say what you want, but he kept it at least close to have us STILL arguing about it years afterwards.

So he wins the title and since then has fought NOTHING but upper echelon talent. He went from Joppy, to Hopkins, to Hopkins, to Winky (a fight I had as a draw also), to Ouma, to Spinks and now to Pavlik.

PLEASE NAME 3 OTHER FIGHTERS WHO HAVE TAKEN ON THAT LEVEL OF COMP IN THEIR LAST 5 or 6 FIGHTS???

And we are complaining that he got (arguable) gift decisions? So did SRL, so did Chavez (and his aint even arguable), so did Floyd, so did Oscar (a few times over), so did Mosely, so did Vargas, so did.....you get the point....I could go on all day.

So instead of praising him for taking on the best fighters he could....we slam him and pray he loses and gets KTFO???

Again, along with unneeded PPVs, corrupt organizations, judges and promoters, too many abc belts, etc. Im adding to many bs hatin ass fans.

Some of you are gonna flame me for this......and your probably are part of the problem.

Some of you will praise me for this......thanks!

    :good and :hi:

I gotta agree with Mr. Boogie here. You can certainly criticize JT for his performance against Spinks, but hating him and calling him a "blight on boxing" is crazy.

Did you stop watching TOP RANK promoted fights when Margo didn't get his big fight? Or did you boycott HBO when they continued to showcase PBF fights, while he was "ducking" Margo?????:huh

    Great point.

Its sad. If your a fan of boxing, how could you not like a champion that actually ACTS like a champion.

He has fought nothing but former champions in his last 6 fights and gets blasted for it. I mean the guy fought Ouma as a TUNE UP for gawd sakes.......

When I call him a blight, I mean his current circumstances and **** poor performances, not the man himself.

It's more the illusion of Jermain taylor, which has still blinded many.

They will cuss and say how much they hate HBO, but keep putting money into their network and buying PPV's from them. Grow a ****in pair I say...:deal
