Perfectly fine fight. He got splattered by Ortiz but Ortiz is the goods. Not sure if he's better than Johnson but it's a similar playing field and a learning fight.

Agree it’s a similar level too the Johnson fight, they’re probably hoping he’s learned from the Johnson fight and will find a way too get Cojanu out of there

Not sure how much Dubois has left after fighting the Kingpin.

This is superb match making. From Johnson to Cojanu is absolute excellent for Dubois development.

Cojanu fought for a world title only 1 year ago and is a tricky customer.

However, I think if Daniel can be aggressive from early on, then Cojanu starts to unravel.

Former world title challenger he was late notice when hughie pulled out only got the job because he was chief sparring partner for Parker

Good matchmaking in the sense casual will buy more in to the hype why does frank warren not send his fighters down the British euro then world route

Time is on dubious side but frank will get him a high world ranking like yarde and will not fight anyone who’s there to win only fight in think Dubois has had where the oppont came to win was Tom little and that was one sided.

Think Gary “highlander” Cornish would beat cojanu

Definitely a step in the right direction. It's only his 10th fight, and his opponents are getting progressively better. Remember Joshua was fighting Sprott in his 10th fight, an experienced customer but well over he hill by then.

And the thing is, Dubois is 21. If he's ready for world title in 2 years, who will be holding the belts? Likewise if he's ready in 5 years. It's going to be one of the current big names / champions anyway.

I agree with Cairney30 above in that I would like to see him go the British route. He's gone through area titles and English titles so I would like to see him continue that path and move through British and commonwealth. Although I think Hughie still holds the British so I can't see that happening any time soon.

I'm reading on Twitter that this has been known for nearly two weeks now but kept quiet

Wonder if Hearn might bring Cojanu in to fight Takam on the 22nd. Don't think he's got an opponent yet. He could save a few bob on flying an opponent over if Cojanu is already here.

There's certainly been little promotion. However they did mention it during the Champions League matches, if they knew he wasn't fighting it's a little naughty.

    Terrible if they’ve known.

Why couldn’t they get Yarde in to replace? Would have had same notice as he had for Fury card.

    So who’s headlining?

There will probably be about 30 people in attendance, and that includes Frank Warren, security and the fighters.

Cheapest tickets £50. Unreserved seating good luck Frank!!

Lots of people seem to have a hard on for Warren at the moment but the matchroom shows vs Warren shows are worlds apart. He really shouldn't try having digs at matchroom!!
