This weekend. Looks a good fight on paper. Lartey’s only loss was a forced retirement against Mersin, I’ve tried to look for the fight video or reports on the internet to see exactly what that was but haven’t been able to find it. Does anyone know? Africans tend to have good chins and a solid work rate and Lartey (although his record is against nobodies) appears to be able to bang. Looking forward to it, should be a good step up. Rest of the card looks pony mind.
Can't say I've ever seen Lartey fight. He was lined up for Junior Fa and Joe Joyce last year but pulled out of both fights.
Looking forward to the Richards - Langford fight out of the entire card should be a solid test for Richards.
Quartey is rated at 336th in the world on boxrec while Dubois is 47th Big mismatch on paper and doubt this goes beyond 4 rounds They should get the Gorman fight sorted or maybe Dimitrenko next for ddd
I would after this fight like to see Dubios have another three fights this year against opponents of the level of 1) Sam Sexton 2) Nathsn Gorman 3) Joe Joyce In that order.
They are fighting him purely because it gets Dubois up the WBO rankings. As Frank has tied with the WBO seems they’re on a promise to be the next mandatory after Usyk. Would be funny if they call him before Usyk into an eliminator and he has to fight AJ. Just like the Yarde scenario
Lartey is a return to form for the TTG (Teak Tough Ghanaian) in British Boxing. Feel like I've transported back to the mid 2000's before the recent trend of Hungarian plumbers coming over with inflated records.
I wouldn't take boxrec ratings seriously when guys like Ray Austin, Oliver McCall and Sam Peter are inside the top 100. Having said that, I do expect Dubois to win with relative ease.
Should win easily. Seems like a step up of sorts, would expect him to have some ambition at least which is something. Langofrd fight should be decent, not so much interested in the rest of the card.
He’s known for doing a massive fart just as the 1st bell goes, a real stinker he’s held in from the night before to put off his opponent Other than that he’s one of those fighters with two left feet and feather fisted
Im interested to see what direction Frank is going to take with this kid. If Hearn is to be believed, Warren put big money down for a Joyce fight, so they obviously want to move him quickly. Assuming he does the job against Lartey, I think they should do the Gorman fight next in the summer. I like Nathan, but I don’t think he’s got world level potential, and I would expect Dubois to win which is of course what Frank would be hoping for.
That guy that beat him, Mersin... does anyone know why he hasn't fought since?! He has a TBA in May, but hasn't fought for 4½ years after the Lartey fight.
