Oh yeah right, great. You must posses some supernatural abilities...
You could make a fortune just betting on boxing fights.

Yeah, I often pick outcomes, and have been wrong many times.
    And you?

We might as well not have a forum right? I mean since we can't even speculate as to who wins an obvious as **** matchup, since we have no proof :patsch

And yes, it is possible to make money on fights. I and many others on this forum do. If you can analyse styles correctly, nothing to do with supernatural abilities

I got it the first time. The general gist of it is that older fighters are overrated, and that it is impossible to predict the outcome of Margarito-Duran

    Yeah, good luck with that...

Duran's defensive ability would smother Margarito's partially crude offensive skills.

It'd be a good fight but I'd take Duran and put my money on it.

Duran has constructed a far more weighty overall body of work than any current fighter from 147 and below therefore it's only natural that most if not all observers would favor a prime Duran.

Comparing past with present athletes is indeed subjective yet part of the subjectivity can be rationalized. How dominant such boxer was versus such other boxer in their respective eras? How strong was one's opposition versus the other one's? are the usual questions one would raise under such circumstances.

Now, suggesting that Margarito (a fighter btw who hasn't yet fought the best welterweights, struggled against Joshua Clottey until the latter injured his hand and lost to Paul Williams, himself exposed by Carlos Quintana) would beat prime Duran (who incidentally beat SRL) would logically imply the possibility that today's welterweight division is stronger than the one Duran fought in.

    Good luck with that...

Thanks. I see no logical reason why the current divisions with guys like Floyd, Cotto, Mosley, Judah, Hatton, Margarito, DLH, Castillo, Tszyu, etc., etc. pp. should be any weaker except that people are suffering from nostalgia.

Likewise, there's no logical reason to believe that current divisions should be any stronger, unless one has a vest interest in ignorance.

I'm sorry but a 147lb Duran ain't knocking Margarito out. Some of you have clearly not followed either of their careers to understand why.

I'd pick Duran on points though.

I'd say it's more of a case of you following mainly Margo's career. Anyone who's there to be hit in close all night long with as little defense as Margarito is not lasting the distance, especially when considering how skilled Duran was in close.
