I would pick Whitaker, I think he could frustrate Duran by taking it to long range and using his wheels. Duran was not the best at cutting the ring off either imo.

I think Whitaker was a better fighter than Duran, controversial, but its how I feel, I hold Whitaker in that high of a regard, although it doesn't bother me if others think Duran was better, they were both great.

Whittaker was a brilliant fighter and no doubt he would have some sucess against Duarn, but ultimately there would be a huge disparity in physical stregnth and power. Duran would be ably to fight his fight and keep the momentum with him for 75% of the fight. I like Duran by close, but comfortable decision.

Whitaker. Duran never liked a defensive cutie; and Pea's the divisions best.

At his most motivated Duran was capable of beating anyone from lightweight to welter. Duran is a true ATG.

Pea was a great boxer and its a close fight, but prime Duran finds a way to outwork him every time.

Benitez, like Duran, was his own worst enemy. When motivated, he was a defensive wizard.

That said, Benitez, as good as he was, was no Sweet Pea.

    Whitaker by UD

Duran had a weakness against runners and people faster than him at LW. Whitaker was both.
