I felt sorry for the girl who was robbed, clearly she gave away weight as you could see she was alot smaller than Eagle but to top it off they rob this poor girl. Its just wrong. Eagle was hurt to the body MANY times and looked farkn awful, she should not be boxing on TV, has she even had any amateur fights? she honestly looked hopless, she needs to go back to the basics and learn how to box. Heres the Eagle fight cards judge: Bernie McMahon 59-55 | judge: Anthony Shipley 57-57 | judge: Max Murphy 57-57 Heres the JNR vs Oganov cards referee: Garry Dean | judge: Max Murphy 48-48 | judge: Ray Reed 47-48 | judge: George Plellis 47-48 Max is as corrupt as they come, this isnt the first time he has cooked the cards. Not sure about the other two but these guys get away with blantant robberys and are rewarded time and time again with their seat back at ringside. Its a discrace to boxing and needs to be stoped. imo Craig Waller is responsible, they either lack the staff to maintain the shows or dont have enough balls to do whats needed in order to reform the sport in Australia. These same people sanction state title fights against setup opponents who have had 2 wins 9 losses and shouldnt even be fighting for state titles. Its a gift opponent. Ive been saying since ABF days that boxing in australia is very corrupt, we have fixed fights, cooked decisions and it doesnt end there. How on earth this poor girl was asked to give up so much weight is just unbelivable, they just want as much advantage as they can get to ensure their boy or girl wins, to me winning anything against a person who shouldnt even be in the ring is embarasing but these guys seem to hold their heads high because they have fooled the general public into beliving they are the real deal. Eagle and her team are doing just that, it wont be long and she will fight for a vacant title against a tomato can, i recall girls like Sharon Anyos fighting on Fox, she would punch the living sht out of someone like Eagle.
I agree on the Anyos part Ty. Anyos would stop Lauryn early...Sharon was a machine.:good Ty your opinion regarding the judging is very similar to mine. I have been saying for ages people love critisizing countries like Germany for their corrupt officiating but in Australia it is worse IMO. Countless times i have seen the Filo's out in Australia as opponents, give our "mediocre" prospects (e.g Davey Browne, Ryan Langham, Ahmed Elomar) hell including knocking them down & coming away with a draw or split points loss haha. I have said it before & i will say it again a national boxing commission is needed to fix up some of the states like WA, which is like the "wild west" of a commission.
No spin, just called it as I saw it. I really enjoyed this fight. They are both boxing novices at the pro level and they both did well. I would have expected more form the 13 fight kicjboxer, but she failed to connect with many punches. her range was well out and at times the way eagle moved about the ring made her look a bit silly swinging wildly. We can see where Eagle is at and she needs to improve qiuckly if she is going to take up the big challenges. I have nothing to do with Eagle but hwere is the problem here with padding an early record for ring experience, why throw her straight into the deep end and maybe bring about an abrupt end to her career.....where is the sense? So how many fights now would Sarah Howett have had now.....again where would be the sense in this.....what do you think of the The Pioneer taking on Woods....are you wanting total mismatches? I had an all nighter working through a contract, pulled up at 11am, went to the pub for lunch and a few ales, got home about 2ish put on the repeat of the Grange card on fox and didn't see the girls announced into the ring....so I cant be 100% i saw the first round... I was asleep on the lounge floor about a half round into the next fight....there i stayed for about 3 hours.:good
Boxoncotton, Sarah Howett has had three boxing fights from memory and half a dozen KB fights a couple of years ago. Diane has had even less boxing bouts and no KB bouts yet word is they have been avoided like the plague. Fighting a Muay Thai fighter 8kg's lighter under boxing rules? Eagle should have won with half the hype she has had. She didn't, looked awful and will get flogged by all of the legitimate female fighters in and around her division. Does Max Murphy ever see a fight where someone won? Should not be copping out with draws! Think we will see a lot more cherry picking in Eagles career.
There are plenty of fighters who have very successfully made the transition full time from Muay Thai to boxing and there are some who transit across both forms of combat with ease. Eileen had the skills to do much better in this fight but was not able to get her range and probably was not so used to eating persistent jabs from a fighter who kept on the move. Your holding a very hardline on a boxing novice 3 fights in. Eileen with 13 fights already under her belt should have convincingly schooled Eagle and she didn't. That would be a major win for Eagle right there. The majority of the hype is about stuff other than her boxing ability....skiing, modelling, Miss World...etc.. Your criticism sounds like sour grapes from a bitchy woman..
Round 1 - Eagle hurt with a body shot, close round however Forest steals the round. Round 2 - Eagle throwing combos and moving but not much connects, Forest comes on around the 1 min mark and lands some solid shots. Give this round to Eagle on work rate alone. Commentators have it scored the same, one round a peice. ROund 3 - Eagle walking into shots, her head is flicked back a couple of times, most of Eagles punches are just landing on gloves, Forest is pressing the fight.Eagle hit with a nice right hand around the 15 second mark towards the end of the round. I give this round to Forest. Eagles asks if shes winning, corner tell her she was winning that round but and then she got hit with a couple of easy shots on you because she walked up without throwing any punches. They also tell her she needs to get her workrate going. Round 4 - Great Jabbing by Forest, commentators say its eagle i think they have been saying Eagle so much this fight they forgot it was Forest jabbing and not Eagle lol, Eagle isnt throwing combos, just one two as the commentators mention, Forest is coming forward, both girls look tired, Eagle is throwing out more punches but they are not very effective with most landing on the glove, Forest hits eagle with a nice left hook and again in the clinch with a nice hook, i give this round to Forest as she is landing the more cleaner punches and pressing the fight. Round 5 - Close round, not that much in it, Forest is landing the better shots, Eagle picks it up last 25 seconds trying to steal the round, possibly give this one to Eagle as she stole the end of the round. Round 6 - Lovely work from Forest at the start of the round, Eagle comes back on but not much is landing. I give this round to Forest. Forest wins 4 rounds Eagle wins 2 rounds A fighter usually knows when they have lost a fight, check out her reaction when its announced a Draw, they may have well told her she had won because the reaction was the same. She was actually shocked, she opens her mouth pretty wide in awe of the decision.
I saw Eagle winning the first round with persistant and accurate jabbing. Forrest got in one body punch. You would give Forrest the round for this? That would be 3 all. A draw. Forrests face was testament to Eagles jab. And you do not mention that Eagles jab dominated Forrest.....maybe not in knock out style but it was kissing her repeatedly throughout the fight.
Let me watch the fight again and get back to you. Dont really want to agrue about it but, its just what i saw but ill go watch it again incase i was watching it through one eye lol I didnt think Eagles jab was very good and in most cases it was being slipped by Forest or hit gloves. Forest was already marked up going into the bout, she looked the same as she went in after the bout so not sure what your talking about there, perhaps you could elaborate?
Your kidding right?? Eagle's jab were far from accurate, 99% of her punches hit thin air or gloves. The punches she did manage to land were not hurting Forrest at all. Forrest Hurt eagle at least 3 times in the fight, twice with body shots and once with a big right which snapped her head right back. Not sure how the hell you can base you judgment on how "marked" up Forrests face was after the fight??? The only punches eagle was landing was in the clinch while she was holding Forrest's by the arm or shoulder. You need to watch this fight when your straight, not passed out on the floor, then make your judgment :dead
How the fark is a girl 8 kgs lighter supposed to easily get in? And as far as I saw she was schooled by a last minute sub who trains Muay Thai - did Eagle win enough rounds on your scorecard to justify a draw? :rofl AND BTW Eileen trains in a lot more than just Muay Thai - BJJ also. I would look at the positive for her as she would rematch Eagle in a heart beat and on a show with judges that have ****in eyes.
:thumbsup Scored it the same 4 - 2. Eileen's face was marked up before the fight from sparring. No time to heal when your the last minute sub.
I just got home so ill watch it after ive got my sht in order but i still rekon it was 4-2, i just want to watch that 1st round again to be sure lol. Eagle is really a joke and its no good having her on TV because she looks alright on the eyes, i watched an interview today and its quite funny, shes only had 1 amateur fight and was considering going for the olympics but claims her trade mark right hand wasnt suited for the amatuers LOL! She then goes onto say some people dont take her seriouse then says within 1 year she hopes to challenge for a world title, im guessing it will be IBO or WBF? lol Here is the interview http://www.cornerman.com.au/index.php?option=com_jomtube&view=video&id=147
99%....... And how often did Forrest miss as a %...? Eagle never looked hurt....some punches caught her out but she never went into protection mode to save getting battered....the opposite she came forward throughout the fight. Forrest threw countless fresh air shots......she had a great technique but rarely had her range working. It has got me ****ed how no one on here has said anything other than complete bull**** about Eagle not connecting with the jab.....it was often....Forrest got tagged plenty. Why dont you re watch it and get back with a less one eyed appraisal. PIRA.....do you know or train with Forrest? You seem to be taking this fairly personally.
