Those of you that hate the Klitschko's should at least be thankfull that they kept guys like Thompson, Chambers and that jerk Kevin Johnson away from the HW title's. Although Chambers is the most palatable one of the three by a landslide.
It's a Friday Night Fights caliber matchup at best but they aren't going to be in season in September. I doubt HBO has any interest in showing a rematch with either of these guys, so why even bother with the eliminator? Chambers lost every round in a snoozefest until the last 10 seconds and Thompson, though more competitive, has only gotten older and slower and their first fight did terrible ratings.
The US TV stations were pushing and showing guys like Ruiz, Grant and Golota. Today they won't even show Chambers and Thompson in a HW eliminator; heck they didn't even broadcast their previous title fights. It's quite disgraceful
This would be an interesting fight.... Thompson is somewhat slow, but his timing is very good. That and his unorthodox-ness allowed him to land quite some punches on Wlad. Chambers should aim for a Haye fight. Very winnable for him, but I doubt Haye would take it.
why leave the markee division to fight at argubly the poorest division in the sport..hes a very gd heavyweight you cannot judge him on his performance against wlad..judge him against everyone else..hes looks gd..and is actually quite fast regardless what people say....
Chambers beat Peter, and Dimitrenko. And even though he lost to Povetkin, he'd probably beat him now. I see no reason for Chambers to move down in weight.
Where does he go if he's defeated by a Klitschko again... the only place he can really go is down to cruiser, he'd be far more successful and a better fighter for it. I'd much rather win some belts than be just another heavyweight contender.
Exactly, people questioning the decision of Haye, Adamek, Chambers, etc. to step up completely miss this point.
This is a good fight. It's a shame two of the top 3 American heavyweights fighting one another won't be televised.
