I quite like Hearn as he's fairly entertaining and charismatic, but he's fallen into that mentality of seeing anyone who criticises him or Matchroom as some sort of failure in life. This mentality has rubbed off on several of his fighters - most notably Anthony Fowler and to an extent Tony Bellew.

This book, and the nauseatingly self-congratulatory 'No Passion, No Point' podcasts demonstrate a lack of self awareness. It's not bitter to suggest that Eddie is in the position he is in largely through the work of his father establishing Matchroom. That's not to say that Eddie isn't a good promoter, I think he is very good.

I probably will read it as it'll probably be quite entertaining - but it's clearly aimed at the Matchroom FC boys.

I worked at Deloittes and was relatively unpopular. I got a senior manager who had 0 personality or sense of humour. So when I got him in secret santa I decided a sexy devil outfit was the only appropriate gift.

    Ohh how nobody laughed

I have the same fear. Every year for Christmas my parents type ‘boxing’ into Amazon and the top book or t shirt is usually what I get.

Just a reminder folks that Uncle Eddie’s book is out today. It’s currently sitting at number 79 in Amazon’s book chart while poor old Frank’s autobiography floundering at number 65,561 and will soon be on sale for 99p in The Works!

It might be a fairly interesting read but it’s no doubt going to be filled with self congratulatory “stay humble work on your goals don’t hate on others” bollocks which most of matchroom seem to preach these days.

This book will help many businesses stay afloat during Covid. I have to assume that before too long it will be on the reading list for numerous university courses.

Well if it all goes sideways with this pandemic once again and we are locked down and there is another shortage of toilet tissue..

We can all sleep soundly in the knowledge Eddie Hearns book won't be sold old and we can always use that.
