I dont normally go on here, Im more of a boxing fan but I watched this bout and scored it myself. Pretty good fight overall

Round 1- Gray comes out fast and puts Edgar down. Though he hit edgar a lot Frankie survived. Edgar to me did not seem hurt but more so the shot got the equilibrium and had him off balance the rest of the round. Maynard to me made a key mistake that round by head hunting rather than going to the body and getting a takedown, laying on him taking the wind out of his sails. 10-8 Maynard

Round 2- Round 2- Edgar right out of the gates lands a kick. Great footwork as he is out of range and landing. Big takedown by Edgar and than he wobbles Gray near the end. Gray looks like he may have thrown himself out. Cant tell if he gassed or if he just has no answer for the footwork. 10-8 Edgar

Round 3- Edgar wins the first half of the round doing exactly what he did in the 2nd. Then at the 2:30 mark Gray starts to land. Then Gray takes him down. I was gonna give Gray the round but a great choke at the end tightens it. Edgar wins the first half Maynard wins the seciond. Even round at 10-10

Round 4- Good takedowns by Edgar, and one great choke looked to end it. Also those shots by Edgar after the takedown were good. Maynard fought well but Edgar just fought better. 10-9 Edgar

Round 5- Close 50-50 round. I liked maynards pressure and pursuit. both men showed tiring after a hard fight. 10-9 Maynard

Conclusion- I had it 47-47 even a draw. It was a fairly easy fight to score. Round 3 and 4 were the best rounds. 5th was up for grabs I wanted to score it even I could see it being even. Had the second 10-8 for Edgar now no it wasnt 10-8 like the first in the sense it was a beatdown with knockdowns and blood but it was a technical schooling. If it was 10-9 like most ppl would say then Maynard wins on my card. Close razor close fight.

Im excited for the 3rd match this was close. However, Edgar I think wins the next fight. He is the better fighter better fot work, better kicks, better wrestling, better grappling, better conditioning. If Edgar doesnt mix it up he can win a easy decsion but the fans would not like it but he can win easy if he stays out of danger. Maynard really has a punchers chance in a rematch but other than round 1 he lost the rest of the fight

Gray did seem to gas and Frankie got his legs back.

If Gray had gotten to the body in the first or took him down and tired him out he may have changed the out come.

Both guys have a lot to learn for the rematch but I really feel Edgar has the advantage.

Yeah I dont think Frankie is a guy who makes the same mistake twice. Surprised Gray didnt go for the take down though. Cant blame him, imagine the feeling of wobbling the champ in the 1st so badly. Must've contributed to his slight gassing in the second cause Gray's got great cardio imo. Let Frankie back in the fight

There are a lot of stories that will be going into this 3rd bout. This fight was a draw in definition. Usually when a draw comes around everybody comes on declaring a real winner, this fight was even.

if Edgar continues to rule his division I hope Aldo moves up to challenge him.
