All the different bodies are only there because television insist that every fight is for a title!!!

I like how the BBBofC refuse to allow the WBA to call their shitty regional belt the European championship when its contested in Britain. At least the Board try to keep a lid on the ABC's as much as they can.

The European title is rapidly heading the same way as well.

How many of the European challengers have actually been ''Euro level'' fighters recently..... with the exception of Maludrottu?

I'm struggling to think of any to be honest.

If you compare the British champions and the British European champions H2H I'd back the British over the European in most circumstances.

    Chisora would beat Harrison
    Brook would beat Hatton

    etc etc.

Really if the European champion is British he should be holding the British title as well. It's something we need to get back to for the titles to have any relevance.

Wasn't there a spell a couple of years back when the WBC refused to recognise Japan? As there were question marks over corruption within their refs and judges.

Just the best belt there is to have for keeps I think.

Such a shame so many boxers now don't go the British/European/World route. What would anyone really choose: having a Lonsdale belt on display at home, or being able to say you once got twatted for the WBO?

Yea Lonsdale is a great belt, one of my proudest memories in boxing was a picture of me with it on in my local paper.

In regards to ranking of world title belts nowadays the IBF is out in front by a long way. They dont have any shitty interim champs or super champs or diamond champs that the WBC/WBA have. I would have the WBO just infront of the 2 joke world titles But miles behind the IBF. I know il get slated for this as the WBC is seen as the real world title but i think it has got to a stage where it has lost all of its value and is now just a joke organisation like the rest.

that's true, what do they have again?

the EBA, EBU, EBU-EE and EBU-EU belts!!

    what a ****ing joke.

I agree the Lord Lonsdale title is perhaps the most beautiful belt in boxing period.

If I was a pro fighter I would be doing all I could to win it out right.

It's not good. It reminds me of that flag they have over gay bars. The English belt is really cheap looking and tiny. The Euro belt looks like one of those toy WWF ones you get for kids at christmas time. Lonsdale belt FTW.
