All the best to Enzo in the future. He was never a great fighter but he comes across pretty well and it's good to see him not trying to delude himself too much.

If his heart's not in it then I agree but if he wants to continue boxing there's no reason why he can't.

Indeed. He got stuck on that WBO circle jerk when, in my opinion, he would have been better off taking a few domestic fights then targeting one of the other belts.

 

Enzo Macarinelli was never a good boxer. He was overhyped KOing bums on Calzaghe's undercard, sad but true.

The Enzo who fought Wayne Braithwaite was a good boxer who controlled the pace well against a known puncher. The problem for Enzo was that he wasn't given the best fight education. The Braithwaite fight was a good learning curve but he then should have been against someone like Herbie Hide who would have brought experience.

Unfortunately he went from a re-match with Hobson into a fight with Bobby Gunn. From Gunn to Braithwaite but instead of keeping him at that level back a level to Azzaoui and then to the best in the division.

Frank Warren ruined Enzo in my opinion by rushing him into the toughest fight out there because he was duped into believing Haye's weight issues were true...
