IN the Diaz fight, I had Morales winning the fight and so did alot of other people so why do so many folks think that he's shot? :huh

There's a different between being past his prime and being shot.. Morales is definitely not a shell of his former self..

I had Morales winning too but that fight was alot closer than the people crying robbery claim it to be.

Not to mention Morales was practically out on his feet in the 12th round, if that were a 15 rounder no doubt about it Morales would of been TKO'd.

    woah!! serious bro?
morales in his prime woulda smoked diaz, badly. you dont think he slowed down considerably in that fight?
manny did get him a little late but took the last bits left of him.
morales was a monster in his prime, that wasnt it vs diaz.

Yeah, he went life and death and arguably beat a very weak titleholder. That doesn't mean he's still in good condition to face any elites. And being that fighting elites has been his bread and butter for several years, there really isn't a point to much else than hanging them up. Why ruin an amazing career fighting on at a low level? The Marquezes and Valeros will shred him, badly. It's lower the standards or GTFO. If you're at all a fan of El Terrible, I'd have to imagine you'd rather see him GTFO.

IF Barrera can comeback, why can't Morales? I dont expect him to fight killers but I see alot of people saying that freakin KATSIDIS would destroy him.. :rofl

I think the purpose of this thread is to justify a Morales/Marquez fight if PBF/JMM doesnt fall through.

That version of Morales was shot. I thought he would still have enough to beat Diaz and put 50$ on him but i had him losing the fight.

135 was too high a weight for Morales on top of that.

eriks elite days ended after fighting manny the first time. the last round was the last time we ever saw erik being elite. prior to that first fight, erik would beat manny 10 times outta 10. he then took 2 serious beatdowns from manny because of the fact he was past it then went on to diaz.
i know styles make fights but to compare manny wiped the floor with diaz whereas morales fought just on even terms.
if he never gave manny the rematch and moved up to fight diaz or santa cruz in 06, he woulda been the first mexican to hold titles in 4 weight classes. (with the casa strippage and all)

EM is done. A fight wit him and JMM woulda been tight BITD, but no point to that **** now. He needs to stay retired.

Because in his prime Morales would of dealt with Diaz inside 5 or 6 rounds.

Wrong he's shot as hell, but that's how good Morales was.
That a shot version of a great Super-Bantamweight/Featherweight could go up to Lightweight, fight a title holder and in the majority of people's opinions win the fight and floor the champion.

But to claim he's not shot is crazy talk.

So a " shot " fighter put up a fight like that against Diaz huh?

I dont think so. Past his prime? yes but not shot.. There's a difference.
