Depends on how you scored Pac-Marquez 3. I saw it as a close fight that could go either way, you can't say that about Williams-Martinez 2 because Williams got starched.

I could see Ward leap frogging his way up if he went up in weight and beat Dawson at 175, but he didn't. He beat a clearly emaciated Dawson while staying at his own comfortable weight class. That's hardly special. In fact, it's practically meaningless. I sense many folks don't quite understand the weight factor in general. We're living in another era of the sport where ignorance like this thrives and continues to grow. We have Canelo fans praising his win over a Junior Welter. We have Ward getting more credit than he deserves. It use to be that the true test was moving up in weight and succeeding, not the other way around.
If Martinez gets credit for beating Chavez Jr, then Floyd gets credit for Baldomir... That's all I'm sayin.
