Just because you like a fighter doesn't mean you have to be biased towards him when trying to critically ****yze his performances or his skillset, that's what fanboys do.

I guess you must be, I've never heard that one before

You can be a fan, and be objective too. I'm a huge Tyson fury fan, but j understand he's got some holes in his game, has shaky whiskers, and will most likely lose against Wlad. However that doesn't mean I won't be routing for him the whole way, just calling it as it is

As far as Khytrov goes, the most disapointing thing for me is that he doesn't have much Ko power, at least not as much as we were led to believe. He's got some things going for him too, I'm pretty sure he has an iron chin, but he needs to readjust his game because he doesn't have that one hitter quitter that guys who go out their looking for that one shot do.

He needs to learn from GGG's game and become an efficient pressure fighter who can grind his opponents down

Yup. Abel will be able to bring the best out of Khytrov and prevent him from turning into some Lemieux. I personally don't want Evhen or anyone else working with Anatoly because I want Anatoly to focus on Loma 100%.

Yes, but I'd like to add that the only person whose criticism I thought was not "fair", which triggered my response was Hercegovac. Everyone else's criticism, I was not bothered by at all.

What have I said that isn't fair?

In a thread titled 'Khytrov sucked' it's kind of odd that you picked me out rather than the dude starting the thread

Damn, it from a Scorsese movie.
Yes I agree he doesn't have the 1 punch ko power that Golovkin has, but he does have power in his punches.

Btw what did you think of his performance against Jorge Melendez?

Mexi-Box! Hope you been good man! Long time!

Khytrov had fighters terrified in the ams. You'd never think from his performances in the pros that he used to be World Am. Champion.

Derevyanchenko was 23-1 in WSB. IMO he should be 22-2 but those two fights that he lost were razor close, and if it was under a 12 round fight, Derevy would have taken over them both IMO. Yeah, look out for that dude. I'd still take GGG over Derevy but it'll be a very good fight.

I don't know . I rarely post/add to these types of discussions but your posts pulled it out of me. I thought you were very harsh on Khytrov, starting from before the fight, during the fight to after the fight.

Woah, would be great. Canelo and Derevy would put on a great show.

Dude, he did suck...we're talking about Khytrov here, standard for criticism is naturally high.

I'm pretty sure that was the fight earlier this year on FNFs right?

I remember him coming out strong, gassing, Melendez then outboxing him for a stretch before being broken down to the body and then being finished by a body shot. Again, its all perspective Isnt it? It's a win, he did what he had to do, but for a dude with 400 amateur knockouts and all this hype (especially at the time), it was a disappointing fight for him, as was the one after that, and again the one last night.

Khytrov needs to figure out his game, and then hone it, hell even last night he came out super weird in that first round, just circling and attempting to body jab, or something, and then going southpaw, orthodox, and so on; it reminded me of a guy who wasn't sure what kind of fighter he is, which is weird because; again he's had 500 amateur fights

MW in general could be smoking in 2 years! Assuming everyone stays in and around there.
GGG will probably still be hanging on.
And all the younger guys will be seasoned pros like
    Quigley
    Derevyanchenko
    Murata
    Khytrov
    Canelo
    Douglas
    Eubank
    Saunders
    Jacobs
    Ogogo

Some great fights to be made!

I completely agree about his fight last night. I think I said "Khytrov looks lost" after the 2nd or third round in the RBR. But I've seen enough from his previous fights to suspect that something was off with him in last night's fight; whether it was a stomach sickness, or something with his team/training.

I haven't watched any of his amateur bouts, so I didn't know what to expect when I saw my first live fight of Khytrov's against Melendez (I watched the available previous pro fights he had on utube). He impressed me. I don't remember him gassing, I remember he made an adjustment from trying to stop Melendez to outboxing him and if he got a KO/TKO that would be a bonus, type of mentality, which he did.

Maybe you have a higher standard of him because of his amateur career. But in my mind I just don't see how you can dismiss him from being a future elite boxer just yet.

Looks like the sky is falling on Khytrov. Someone call chicken little.

It is not like BN 24/7's cadre of expert micro managers are ever wrong. Apparently Khytrov should just move back to Ukraine and make a living doing show tricks on Cossack horses because our pundits see no hope for him as a boxer.

Sorry Ihven: The masses have spoken.
