"I felt a pop in my eye," Matthysse said.
"I preferred to take care of my eye. I could have gotten up but I preferred
to stay down to protect my eye.
    Nothing happened for me tonight."

He's no David Haye who fought Vlad Klitschko with a broken toe.

He would rather die then quit in the ring. :nod

I didn't catch that. I was completely shocked by the second part of the fight and outcome. Didn't see it coming at all. I was way off on what I thought.

He didn't want to continue with a bloody nose. The eye was fine.

I believe Matthysse, I don't think he is a quitter.

Quitter, guys have gone on with broken jaws and all sorts of gruesome injuries in the past, would never call a boxer a coward because of what they do in the ring but when you quit you deserved to be called a quitter,

Matthysse is no quitter, all his fights have been brawls and wars, he has fought with broken bones and blood coming out.

Also had the referee done his job, Postol would still be sleeping

You believe what? He could've made the count and gone to his corner at least. If his eye was that bad than stop the fight.

Big fan of his but it think he is breaking mentally.
He looked a bit strange vs Provodnikov.

I agree. When he realizes that he cant knock his man out he loses his confidence. That can happen to a fighter that relies on his power most times.

im sure saving the eye became priority over winning or soldiering on, i dont blame him, only he knows what an eye is worth to him. i do believe there are other fighters who would have got up and stepped towards the fight.

Matthysse is a warrior, no way he just quit because he was getting beat. There was something with his eye.

Do you really believe that Matthysse just gave up? Look at the wars he's been in, he doesn't quit, not until this time and something happened to him to have made him do that. I believe him.

I'm not saying that Postol didn't beat him, he did, he's the one who caused him the injury but I don't think Matthysse would "just" quit for no reason.
