So... Kessler doesn't have defense... he doesn't have offense, he doesn't have a style, he's slow and he's overrated...

Welcome to ESB, noob, a wonderland you'll surely enjoy. :hi:

I'm glad you started this post because I've been just about the only person on ESB who thinks Kessler is seriously overrated. He also seems to grow in stature the LESS he actually fights which I find quite bizarre.

I'm not saying he's no good. He is a very good fighter, but no where near the mythical monster most on ESB make him out to be.

His best two wins are the limited Andrade and china chinned Mundine.

If he starts banging out fighters like Froch and Taylor, then I'll believe in him much more

Kessler is overrated, and it was first done to hype Joe Calzaghe by the Calzaghe nuthuggers to make Joe more legitimate.. then after the loss he was continued to by hyped so that they could point back on his resume and say "look at THIS win over a PRIME ELITE fighter!"..

    former wbc/wba super middle champ

holds wins over Anthony Mundaine (former champ, good fighter, hes easily top 10 at super middle)

Andrade (holds wins over robert steigltiz current wbo champ and should have gotten the nod against the current ibf champ) this guy is underrated cuz of his ugly style (kessler made him look like a joke)

Eric lucas (former champ, but very faded)

Manny sicia (he was the champion but i dont remember him having any other big fights then mundaine or kessler)

Marcus beyer (long time reignig wbc champ, if i remember, he beat danny green pretty handily before kessler fought him)

Kessler's only loss is to arguably the best super middle of all time who retired undefeated, and it was a competitive fight.

He has the best record at 168, so i guess that makes him the defacto number 1 guy. Is he overrated? Hell yea..... Maybe its because he looks like some kind of viking warrior lol :yep

He has good foot work and a really good 1 2. But he looks stiff, carries his guard a little low, and lacks headmovment/good blocking. However he is a master of darting in and out and maintaining proper range.... His speed is good (i dont really see were the **** you get slow from :huh) he might not be the fastest in the division, but he certainly makes people like forch look slow. He also has above average power, and great timing with accuracy.

Kessler is a very good fighter, but the jury is still out on him. These past 2 years have really hurt him. Beating euro bums isnt going to do anything for his legacy....

thank god for the super 6, now we can see if he's as hyped up as his nuthuggers say, or if hes a bum like his haters claim. Im just glad i belong to neither side lol :hi:

I don't know about you but I love the way the viking warrior fights ..He's not the favorite in the tourney for no reason now ..I think you need a few more hrs of footage ..

I feel Ward has a better chance of beating him than Froch...

What a load of ****ing dribble, it didn't even make sense :huh
So basically what your saying is, Mikkel Kessler is a completely static heavy bag? and on the other hand you have the likes of Froch whom himself has an amazing defence right?! :nut and who is apparently "nice". What exactly does "nice" mean in terms of boxing?

Honestly, just when you think the ****ery on the gf can't get any worse some typing vagina comes along and completely resets the whole scale!:rofl

Of course Kessler was overated in the past, but I think people are more realistic about him these days. As a very good but not quite 'elite' level fighter.
