I agree with this, and also I would add there was plenty of worthy challengers for him to face during the time he was fighting nobodies which adds to it even more. I blame Warren though, he did a fantastic job of making him and Joe very rich, and just like Hamed and Hatton, he saw no reason to throw Joe to the lions, when he could sell out any arena with Joe fighting a washed up Charles Brewer.
Joe Calzaghe will be respected as an undefeated fighter, SMW best but Roy Jones JR, and BHop will always be given more respect
Calzaghe will never be as respected as both, because, quite simply, he doesn't deserve to be. I mean, lets be honest, when you think about great fighters, most people dont have an image of Joe pop in their heads immediately.
