Listen...I respect your Boxing Knowledge. But Floyd (within the past 3-5 years) Has been ALL about what makes MONEY. It wasn't about whether Gatti or Bruseles had a chance to win. It was Money Making Strategy!!! Fighting Cotto in NYC @ MSG is a PURE GENIUS MONEY MAKING STRATEGY. It will sellout in Minutes...The Celebrity Dollar will be MONUMENTAL...All the NYC festivities the week of the Fight will be Star-Studded....IT WILL BE SIMILAR TO NBA ALL-STAR WEEKEND!!!! And if the Pacquio fight happens...That fight will be out here (West-Coast) somewhere. Las Vegas, Los Angeles or even the Bay Area simply because of the Large Philippino Population in "this" part of the Country. There are two reasons why Floyd will do this: 1. MONEY MAKING COMMON SENSE $$$$$$$. Floyd is the Master of Capitalizing on the Large Number of fans that want to see him LOSE!!!! 2. Floyd is not concerned with losing to Pacquio or Cotto. FLOYD WILL DEMOLISH AND DESTROY PACQUIO EASY!!!! Floyd will box circles around Cotto to an easy UD. But to stay consistent with the Thread....I hope Cotto Destroys Pacquio...ROACH IS A F**KING WIESEL!!!
Whats Zabs biggest win? What about Hattons? and honestly JMM I am not really impressed with he gets credit off of lossing twice to Manny Pacquiao though he did beat Diaz and Casa, but wasnt and isnt Casa old, and Diaz well come on now he just lost to nate campbell for god sakes... he beat Chico but at the time what had Chico done?:think G Hernandez was basicly retired when he got the call, and Oscar was a shell of himself and that is still a questionable win.. I agree with you, Cotto hasnt beat a champion for that title, I hear you, but its kind of hard to when Williams decided he didnt want the fight and he dumped it..... A draw is not someone who can sell a couple PPVs with a big name attached, a draw is also someone who sells tickets to the fight, a draw sells both, not just one...... thats where you get the term draw, he draws the fans out to see him....... who gives a **** if PBF was the #1 P4P when he retired, he retired, and that became Vacant and the fights Manny took and won got him his spot rightfully, if Floyd wants it back he has to fight Manny to get it, and in dealing with Manny Pac, if you want that fight that bad, you will have to deal with Roach and Arum, its not going to be easy, I know your not ignorant to suggest Manny doesnt have a case for himself.
atsch are you ****ing kidding me, Floyd looked amazing at 140 though most thought he was topped out, he did not lose a beat, he got caught with a good shot it happens in boxing...... **** your insane *** love for the boy has got you all ****ed up.... nobody is that perfect, he got tagged end of story, doesnt mean it wasnt his prime weight, it was 140 Floyd was a monster..
I'm not saying Corely could have won, should have won, or would have won. I'm saying I didn't like the stoppage and neither did alot of other people. He was taking knees on his own accord. I can see if Cotto was pounding the bloody hell out of him like he did Zab, or if Corely's corner took mercy of they're fighter and didn't let him come out like Gomez didn't. Chop had all his wits and was fully aware of what was going on. If anything IMO Chop hurt Cotto more with that right hook even though Cotto didn't go down. Like I said, I'm not saying Chop was gonna win. I'm just saying I don't like how that fight ended.
Williams didn't want a fight with Cotto? That's news too me. Williams would have cut off his right arm to get Cotto in the ring and it was Arum who forze Williams out at 147 because he knew he would work his fighters in Margo, Cotto and Clottey. The point is we can go on and on about picking apart fighters someones resume but the fact remains Cotto has never won a title that wasn't vacated. Once again you lose credibility. Not a draw who can sell a couple of PPVS??atsch PBF has been involved in 3 of the biggest PPV fights of this decade one being the biggest of all time with other guys who made the most money ever and did the most buys ever while facing him. But yet by your definition that doesn't matter right?:-( If this fight is to take place it will have to be on PBF's terms and rightfully so.
You should have made that a bit more clear, its bad enough we mis undestand each other as it is... Now here is a series of questions I want you to address... Why do you refuse to understand where people are comming from Regarding Floyd fighting the likes of Mosley and or Margarito.. (Prior to the plaster)? How is it, Margarito could be willing to dump his WBO title to fight Cotto for a major title and a pay day, rather than williams and he is a ducker? in the same note, he did fight Williams lost, asked for a rematch williams said no, then when he won both the IBF and WBA suddenly he owes williams a rematch? how does that **** fit into the picture with some of you and again he is a ducker, even though Williams turned him down first right? and speaking of turning down....... Why is it not okay for Margarito to turn down Williams, but okay for Floyd to turn down Mosley and Margarito? why is is accepted that Floyd can be allowed to say no, but if another fighter does he is a coward or a *****? this back and forth ****, honestly we argue the same exact points in favor of different fighters, and just because we call Floyd on his ****, we become instant haters...... When in reality alls we are, including you Pimp, are nothing but fight fans who want to see the best fights out there, the best vs the best, the best fights that not only bring interest to the sport, but that will produce some of the biggest wars out there...... Fights that will settle debate and doubt, as to weather or not this fight turns out the way we thought or said it would... I am sorry but there are tons of people who see it the way I do and tons of people who see it the way you do, are we all just wrong? No we are not, basicly we are all fans that want to see Boxing come through with some good fights......
Williams didnt want Cotto is called sarcasim~! look it up some time... Floyd has been in the biggest PPV fights of this decade, but who was he in there with? Hatton who can get 10 thousand brits to fly over.... DLH who has always had a huge fan base..... Marquez on Mexican independance weekend, of which the study conducted here clearly show that the Latinos carried that PPV by a wide margin. Yes he is a draw, but he isnt a draw in terms of his own fans going out to see him, and the Latinos that do tune in do so to support their man, as did the brits when Hatton fought him...... Do you think Floyd vs Williams would sell?:think if Floyd is the draw that should right? why doesnt he sell seats answer that one for me right there..... none of you have even addressed this one.....
Yes Floyd is about Making money, you're absolutely right about that. I don't disagree at all. However the man does smart business. Yes he looks out for his dollars and that's understandable. But their's to much controversy about Miguel Cotto & MSG. Low blows vs Judah(which I feel played the deciding factor in that fight and was definately the tide changer) Shane Mosley which many people feel Shane won(I feel it was even, could have gone either way) and a foul plagued fight vs Clottey. Yes Clottey uses his head and that's annoying however that bodyslam and the rabid punch are still the topic of much discussion. Pretty much the majority of Cotto's fouls come from his backyard. MSG. That's enough dark cloud for Floyd to say: Hell no. And I don't blame him. Off topic, Floyd IMO is a tad concerned with facing Pac. After all, Pac is a southpaw, and we've seen in the past what kind of fighter can get to Floyd. A southpaw. About 2 months ago, Floyd Mayweather said if Pac really wanted him he'd pay Marquez "step off money" and he'll kick Pacquiao's ass, or something to that degree. Now in a recent interview where the man actually had the audasity to say "Hopkins should face a better challenge" Floyd then spoke about how a fight with Pac may never happen because of his differences with Arum. Funny how that works huh? A paticular southpaw in Zab showed us some "blueprint" on Floyd on the contrary to what Floyd may think. Paticuarly, a speedy southpaw that throws alot of punches. Floyd didn't even really seem like he had an answer for Zab until he started getting tired. Zab has stamina issues. PAC DOES NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM. Also, a southpaw that throws punches from weird angles. A fighter that throws from weird angles is very difficult to time. Corely showed us this when he smacked Floyd with a right hook that made him buckle badly. Corely is horrible at following up and putting the pressure on. PAC DOES NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM. Floyd skillfully is better than Pacquiao, but the things that Pacquiao possess are enough to give Floyd a serious run for his Money. Absolutely no demolishing or destroying Pacquiao easy. Pacquiao isn't Marquez, Gatti, or none of those guys. And Pacquiao's speed will bother Floyd because he hardly faces a fighter as fast as him or faster. Zab was faster than Floyd when they fought and it bothered Floyd early on. Floyd vs Pac would be a serious fight with an edge to Floyd but Pac is most definately a live wire and my pick to win. And yes, Floyd outboxes Cotto. He takes him to school. Hopefully Pac kicks Cotto's ass.
A voluntary poll on a boxing enthusiast website populated largely by mouth-breathing, illiterate ******s who accounted, in total, for maybe 1,000 of the total buys is not a "study." It's nothing like a study. This site is not a statistically representative sample of anything except maybe the results of fetal alcohol syndrome on internet posting.
Exactly and in doing a study with about 1000 people especially on this forum where you have loads of mayweather fans, and general fight fans, its a good indicator as to who carried the PPV event. alot of studies through universitys such as USC generally use about 1000 subjects, my wife works there I know this, she does research...... again that study here, proved right here who was the majority that bought, and there were plenty of Floyd fans that could have partcipated in that study, even using all their alt user accounts, and it still showed who was the largest population that bought the event..... The numbers dont lie...
Kostya never rematched Phillips after the ko loss, and Arum won't make the PAc-Floyd, and we know why... Almost 9 years to the day...
Guys have to talk about "if" Kostya landed on Floyd like Corley lol... Fantasy land. Kostya could not even beat Hatton lol. Oh, Kostya was old huh? lol...
