I don't underestand how people on this forum can praise Floyd as a great fighter and not be a fan of Joe Calzaghe? Nuts!!
The real loser here is Roy Jones Jr. He should have chased Calzaghe down between '98-'01. Instead, he got humiliated in '08.
I think he's an all-time great for sure. Brilliant resume or not, the dude was special period. And I hate that I keep seeing this 'RJJ was 10-12 years past his prime" debate. Well, so was Joe. I mean, he was no spring-chicken when he fought em. PLUS, RJJ showed the world what he had left in the last fight in against LAcy, so it makes that point moot. Dudes not what he was (and neither is Joe), but he still has tremendous speed and pop for his age. Calzaghe just made him look like **** and that should be comended as a job well done. I mean, I wouldn't have disagreed so much with the idea that RJJ was too far past his prime if it weren't for the 8 punch combinations he was bombing Lacy with... **** fighter or not, Lacy looked like he was getting Calzaghe'd in there against RJJ... lol
