was reading about the life and times of walter mathau(the bad news bears, the odd couple) and he stated that he grew up on the east side with rocky graziano and as a kid he claims he beat rocky up a few times. any truth to this?

i love walters acting but its hard for me to picture him fighting anyone much less whipping a young graziano.

Likewise. Im a huge fan of Matthau, who i maintain is one of the funniest guys ive seen in movies when its called upon, but im not so sure this happened. Hes a tall guy, think hes about 6ft 3in, but it definitely never happened as adults (i reckon). Maybe they were about 7 or 8yr old when it happened, if indeed it did.

EDIT: he was a bad ******* in 'The Kentuckian' but he had a whip

WOuldnt suprise me if that did happen when they were real young.... Ive grown up with guys that were not considered tough guys as kids and grew up to be some badasses... And also the other way around, guys who matured fast but not so tough when grown up.
