We all know Hearn > Warren atm, and probably for the future But Warren isn’t going down without a fight. He’s signed Frampton, Fury, Dubois and some good amateurs in recent years.. (probably some other decently names too) Whether you think his shows are rubbish or not I quite like that he’s not just laying down to the Sky/Mathroom power. He’s obviously putting good money up
Frank takes one step forward then two steps back. He does himself the most damage. The postponed shows earlier this year. The opponents for these apparent stars getting a week camp. Puts his fighters in with absolutely zero risk. Lack of promotion for what should be his stars (Smith and Flanagan world champions). Putting one of the most anticipated rematches of recent years (Smith - Williams) on in Newcastle, a million miles from both of their homes - it could have been a massive event in Cardiff or Liverpppl. Imagine what Hearn would have done with that. And there’s a million other things. But yeah he does do some good stuff.
He’s trying hard. Hopefully the Selby-Warrington show can do big numbers at a packed stadium. When you take away Joshua there’s no doubt that Frank has the better stable of fighters.
he doesn't help matters by making fights like saunders vs murrey it's a poor fight murrey struggled and got a gift against rosado
There more than enough room on the British boxing scene for boxing promoters besides Hearn and his Sky backed empire.
Yeah but right now only one is doing big things. Warren can't even fulfill his tv dates. 20 shows minimum 2018 he said with an extra 20 on top.
Let’s face it he’s miles behind Hearn and his shows aren’t as good as even he use to have. Fury is his last hope but he won’t be making money off the first 3 warmup fights just hoping for the big one. BN in the meantime is finished!
Franks an old school cockney g whereas eddie's a fake essex boy. He took 2 shots to the chest whereas eddie shat his pants when chisora threw a foldable table. So a silver spoon toff who puts on a wideboy act isn't going to stop him lol.
Hearn is levels above Frank on the promoting scene. Hearn is selling out stadiums and arenas where Frank is cancelling events because he is not selling enough tickets. Everyone says Eddie relies on AJ but the fact is if he didn't have him then he would still sell out events. Look at the ticket sales for Queen Khan, he is fighting a nobody and still he can sell out an event. It's all about Promotion and Eddie might have a big mouth but he is very good at what he does.
Hearn keeps peddling the myth that Warren can't sell, yet Belfast is pretty much sold out on Saturday and they've done nearly 22,000 for elland road. Meanwhile there was only 7,000 for Okolie/Chamberlain and about the same for Whyte/Browne.
I like EH i think he is entertaining, but he does not take it as serious as he should. WF is very old school and has seen it all before, he will get back to where he was, never been topped as far as i am concerned. He just has a little blip in front of him at the minute, which like i said he has seen before and seen them off... WF is the man to be with, not some fly by night who likes a pound note...
See my only problem with FW is he seems to really protect his fighters until he has almost no choice. It all gets a little boring and predictable. Hearn takes more risks, not all the time and not lopsided ones but he does take more, he will roll the dice. And I believe that is not lost on the paying public, that's why Hearn sells more tickets and puts on bigger events.
The Selby - Warrington fight has already done big numbers with a month + to go but it’s an event I have very little interest in. I think that’s the same with most people outside of Leeds. What I will say about the above event is it’s been promoted a lot better than previous ones. He got Leeds on board and tapped in to their fan base, announced 4 months, a gloves are off style show (which was terrible), press conferences months before, as sh!t as it was the stadium announcement (it got us talking about the event didn’t it?). On the whole it’s been an improvement from frank. But then you look at the o2 card which has had a the same amount of time and there’s barely any promotion, no support fights announced, pretty much nothing. He’s just expecting BJS to sell it out on his name.
