Farnell producing real fighters???

He's started training Matthew Hall, also has another novice in Ronnie Heffron.

 

I think Arnie is in a lucky position where he is going to have the pick of anybody that Warren signs. I've heard lots of good stuff about his training methods and there is some great fighters down there- and i'm hoping to spend a bit of time up there soon, but for me the ultimate test willl come not now - but when he takes a kid from scratch to a championship. Most experienced ams know how to fight, so turning over is not quite the move its cracked up to be. It simply a case of refining and getting them fit initailly, though obviously you can see that they do work on little moves and stuff - so arnie's experience with different trainers is really going to add to what he can pass on.

I've seen very poor trainers have success with there former top amateurs against journeyman. The bigger tests will come for Arnie once his guys step up to a higher level, that said he's doing a great job and you can't fault him thus far.

 

imo arnie is the best british trainer right now.

Arnie has got a great camp and is fast becoming the envy of many people...:yep

FW has got the pick of the paddock when it comes to people training his hottest prospects. He could put them anywhere he wanted...:yep He has chosen Arnie...that in itself speaks volumes...:good

That is the best compliment Arnie could want. He is very much his own person.

It is far to early to draw any comparators to any other trainers with regards to greatness. Arnie is developing a Camp of very accomplished amateurs and taking them on the journey through the paid ranks....some great amateurs have not managed this transition...:nono

I am looking forward to watching during the next few years the success that will come to Arnies Gym...:good

Such an exciting time for British boxing. The prospects in that gym look impressive, and Arnie is a no-nonsense trainer who appears to read the game very, very well, and most importantly all his lads really worship the ground he walks on, which shows he knows how to instill respect and discipline in them, which can sometimes be a problem for decorated amateurs.

Remember Michael Maguire? Had the World at his feet, acted like a dick.

 

Jimmy Tibbs, Brendan Ingle, Robert Mccracken plenty more proven trainers out there but thats not to say in 10-15yrs time he will not be considered as one of the best.

 

To be fair he's got Bellew and Gavin, two of the best prospects in the country, and they've been matched against opponents that are 100/1 underdogs. I think the jury is still out on how he develops his fighter and how he advises them when things are actually tough. We'll learn more when more questions are asked of him and his charges.

That's a fair point but he could have put Tony Bellew and Frankie Gavin anywhere he wanted but has placed them with Arnie...:yep

I like Jimmy Tibbs and Johnny Eames as well. I am sure that Johnny Eames posts on another site as Ultra...:think

I try and pop down to the gym when I'm home (Thanks Arnie + co :good) and I just stand around like a leper watching the lads train and speaking with them/Arnie. It is a brilliant atmosphere and it's a joy to just sit their and watch the lads train and **** about. If I was a boxer then hand on heart this would be the place I'd train. All the lads mess about constantly and are all good friends. They take the **** out of Arnie and Arnie takes the **** back, there are no superstars in the gym. But when it comes down to training they do their stuff as required, no ****ing about.

If you listen to Arnie in his interviews he is always saying that just because he wasn't the most technically gifted fighter doesn't mean by any stretch of the imagination his lads can't be. This is a man who is obsessed with boxing, as soon as he's home from the gym he's on youtube pulling up random fights, watching trainers do pads from around the world seeing how he can further himself.

He has 4 lads there at the moment and I FULLY expect each and everyone of them to go on and collect more honours than they have currently. It's been a long stretch for Farnell getting to the point he is at now, and I genuinely believe that the hard work he's been putting in over the last 4/5 years will start to pay dividends now his fighters and his gym are making a name for himself. As noted before it says a lot that Frankie Gavin chose to move out of Birmingham to go and train there considering at the time there hadn't been anyone in this gym who had gone on to any pro honours.

Top man and top lads in the gym, and I wish the success continues :good

 

Yep, its "so far so good" but thats all. We need to wait until his charges step up in class and how their career/ skills develop long term.

 

Heffron is equally good to watch.

To be honest I didnt realise he was with Farnell.
