Hi what are you thoughts on this? I know running with out food is not good for perfomance but for a person trying to lose fat wouldnt it be better then running after eating?

Running on an empty stomach early in the morning has worked wonders for me when I was overweight when I was 16 but I would only reccomend doing it if you just woke up and not starving yourself so you can run on an empty stomach later in the day

Too many boxers on here overly concerned about weight, if your training hard at the gym and running regularly, the weight should slide off, it took me 8months to lose 13kg and get at my natural fighting weight, ive lost 3kg in the last month, by stepping up my running speed/distances and lots of circuit training. My metabolism is very fast atm, ive also cut out milk and eat not as much cheese (think might be lactose intolerant) and eating less bread, ive been drinking green tea 3-4cups a day which has helped alot. If your staying at a weight that doesnt look natural you have to step it up! But to answer your question, i found that about 2hours rather than half an hour before training has helped me lose weight, so id think running empty should do the job.

Fasted state is better for fat loss, yes. But running risks burning muscle as opposed to a brisk speed walk.

i would say your not going to let yourself starve but if your going to jog on a empty stomach you need to eat when finished,,i wouldn't eat before a run,,,if you have body fat to burn then eat smaller portions & plenty of water ,,don't forget you have to enjoy doing the exercise to lose the weight,,also give yourself a realistic weight target to get to this will help you reach your goal

    good look :tired
