Apparently losing a fight is the way to get a Strickeforce HW title fight.

 

What are you guys talking about.. didn't Coker say in his last interview that because Fedor only has 1 fight left in his contract there's no way he'll get to fight overeem? And isn't Werdum's surgery suppose to be very minimal, taking only a short time to recover? I don't think Coker will let Fedor fight either Werdum or Overeem.

 

Fedor only has 1 fight left on his current contract. I think what the plan was after rodgers was to fight werdum and win leavin his potential last fight for the title against overeem. I don't think any1 figured he would lose to werdum.

 

Overeem was just there for the glory. Also Michael David Smith is a know Fedor and M1-Global hater. His latest M1 doom and gloom spew has turned out to be garbage since M1 hasnt closed its Global HQ and M1-Glabal hasnt filed for bankruptcy. This is basically slanering M1-Global without proof etc.

Furthermore, this is the same Michael David Smith that cant take comments and that cant take proof like a man. This is the same Michael David Smith that filed a lawsuit against Bloodstain Lane for some so called "physical threats".........from a youtube video too lol.

He was interviewed after the Fedor v Werdum fight, Overeem wanted to fight Werdum next and was no longer sure if he wanted to risk himself against (a clearly better fighter) Fedor.

Clearly wanted to fight Fedor next and has called for the fight to happen many times. Werdum doesnt want to go backward and fighting a fighter that hes already won against (before Fedor anyway). Werdums manager says the surgery will be minor and it's possible that Werdum could return to the cage this year

Coker has stated that he doesn't want Fedor fighting Werdum or Overeem, going against what he said after Fedor's loss. Since Fedor only has 1 fight left, he probably doesn't want him to become champion and want's to have the Werdum fight as a spade up his sleeve for further negotiations.

Instantly intriguing, stylistic match-up, both can whack; Overeem has improved immensely over the past few years........has Fedor still got it?

The winner gets Werdum once he's back to his best. It's a no-brainer IMO.

plus werdum comes back after surgery and gets a shot at the title. similar to what happened with joe louis and max shmeling but then.... not really

 

The champ is getting the opportunity to face a guy coming off a loss.

SF need to instill some credibility in their belt quickly.

 

What happens if Overeem beats Fedor, does that kill the Werdum rematch and Fedors contract is over?

Bigfoot is beatable for Fedor and keeps him sweet for the Werdum rematch. Overeem can face the winner of him and Sergei. Hopefully Sergei to settle the trilogy.
