Just watched the Tito Trinidad vs Mamadou Thiam fight for the first time. Again, Trinidad's power was unbelievable! Was it technique that gave him this, illegal handwraps, or just a god given attribute? What do you guys think? At least with Tommy Hearns one could understand as he had incredible height and reach with which to leverage amazing power shots. But Trinidad was only about 5 '10, looked like a bean pole, but looks like he is hitting opponents with bricks. He fights flat footed often, people make fun of him for this, but doesn't fighting flat footed give you more power?

Tito left hooked Thiam's eyeball out.

Tito has good technique on his shots, he gets good leverage on them. He's probably blessed with naturally heavy hands as well.

    I dont think so.

But I bet Tito messed him up real bad.
He probably broke the guy's eye socket or something.

Tito was 5'11". Hearns was 6'1". I wouldn't say 2" is a difference between "only" and "incredible", would you? They were both lanky at welter, Hearns more so.

It makes a difference in regards to arm reach. Those long arms coupled with power are like helicopter blades for a shorter fighter like Cuevas.

Trinidad had big power. It was awe-inspiring when he'd connect and then you'd see the effect on the other guy.

Trinindad= most exciting fighter from mid 90's to 2001. It was a thing of beauty to watch him throw his straight right hands and left hooks.

you've been watching fights since 01? Aww how cute...let me guess Vargas vs Tito was one of the very first fights you've seen? :rofl

gtfo of here. Many fighters stack their wraps to secure the bones in their fist so they don't break not really to make them "Hit harder". Fighters such as DLH and Floyd and others have injected their hands with numbing medication, what the **** is the difference? No one gives a **** that they numbed their hands in the past.
