fenech v's michael

it still may happen, as barry is keen. both men have constantly sparred in gyms since retirement. however, not against eachother....

but if they fought years ago, when both at their peak, how would it have gone?

i recon it would have gone something like the fenech v's mario martinez fight. fenech bashed martinez for about 8-9 rounds. but fenech always had hand problems, as he couldnt close his hands and make a propper fist. so when he punched, his knuckle joints would overextend and get damaged. and this is what he did on martinez hard head.

early in the fight, fenechs hands were stuffed. but he kept punching martinez all over the ring. late in the fight, fenech had to relent because of the injuries, and proved his talent by boxing martinez instead of fighting him.

fenech rarely gets credit for his boxing ability, but that night he proved he was a class act in the square ring. not only that, he got up from a kd late in the fight, as the tough mexican got game and chased the boxing fenech. fenech poured on the preasure again for a bit to get some respect back from martinez. then continued to box...

fenech won easily on the cards but it was a tough fight. he won it with his heart, then with his head. not many could have...

i see the michael fight going a simmilar way, a brawl early, fenechs hands damaged, and then fenech boxes out a ud.
