I doubt Marrickville was worse tha Redfern, Waterloo, Wooloomooloo, Glebe etc.

 

Fenech has been a crook since his childhood...... mostly for the thrill.... Now its obviously for the cash.

 

For 30 years P.M. and Fenech have been the best of mates so for 30 years P.M. has stood by and watched Fenech bully people, throw his weight around and generally act l
ike complete *****.
All of a sudden, when he's on the recieving end Fenech becomes a dog and scum.

If he ever took the time to read the history of that country & what an unwaving, tough & valiant ally they were during the war, pride would dislodge the ******.
The George Cross, which Malta was awarded, is given for "acts of the greatest heroism or of the most conspicuous courage in circumstances of extreme danger." which they bear with great pride, Jeff should acknowledge.

The migrant thing hit a lot of other nationalities a lot harder.

Actually got hold of the original biography of Fenech - they were giving it away at Avalon library yesterday

Started reading it last night - he had good, hardworking parents, and he was the youngest of 6 siblings.

He had 4 older brothers and an older sister, and was basically spoiled rotten. His father had a bad heart and was in and out of hospital for years, so they reckon it was lack of parental figures (his mother was working all hours to support the family and also visiting his father in hospital in her spare time) so the kids were pretty much left to their own devices from an early age.

The book says he tried to put across the impression that he was from poverty, like his mates, but in reality he and his siblings never went hungry or wanting for anything.

He was just a bad little ******* who got caught up in a gang (the Newtown Hoods) and discovered he liked beating people up. Never a truer word has been spoken when they say that the day he walked into Newtown Police Boys Club and met Johnny Lewis saved him from a life of crime, but it would appear he never strayed far from it, just kept it well-hidden for a few years.

The book was published in 1988, so it was before he got done for bashing that elderly fruiterer, and stealing the watches, etc...funny knowing what was to become of him...

 

Too bad. He was a great fighter.
