a popular boxing archive is listing Tye Fields to face Kali Meehan. *I don't want to say the sites name because it may be against the forum rules. This would be Fields biggest test. He is low on skill and technique, but does have size, power, stamina, and decent athleticism. I'm curious to see how he will do.
As lacking in skill as Fields is, I bet his immense size and power will still be enough to beat the lackluster Meehan. The man is absolutely King Kongish in stature, and if he can keep Meehan on the outside, at least for a little while, he should be able to land a thumping KO shot or two. I gotta admit, its good to see Fields finally get a fight with someone who has been, at least distantly related, to the world class level. Good test for Fields. One that I think he should pass, even as lacking as he is.
Both these guys are absolutely useless. Who gives a **** about them? They should be fighting on a pier somewhere, or in an alley.
This is sort of an interesting fight. Fields looked good against Releford and threw an incredible amount of punches for a guy that size, although he's slow as hell. I'm kind of surprised Arum is putting him in even with a guy who's even mildly dangerous like Meehan, rather than waiting to cash in.
well, I think a lot of fight fans are interested. Fields has a padded record, and although Meehan isn't the best, a lot thought he did beat Brewster before Brewster beat Krasniqi and Golata. In other words, it will be a decent test. I'm not saying Fields is a future champ, but it should at least be intersting to a lot of boxing fans.
Both young exciting prospects with a lot at stake. I say the fighter who wants it more will win this fight, and I have a feeling it will boil down to the championship round. Can't decide who I should pick. Let the best man win. :nut
fields has like a hundred wins on his record........but he still fights guys like 37 year old meehan!!! what does that say about his managements faith in him?? if they dont have any, i wont have any either. can you spell B.U.M.
Or 38 tune up fights. Fields needs to take a step up already. Otherwise he'll continue to be a joke. I doubt his workrate will help him much when he faces someone who can punch, especially since he has almost no power behind his punches.
This is a good match up....It is time for Fields to step it up. And Meehan needs this fight too if he ever wants to get back into contention.
