The world is full of people who suck at their jobs. but boxing is different, because if you suck, you don't just get fired....you can suffer permanent, even mortal injury. So, the question is, why do guys like dominic wade do this? My sense is, fighters like wade are really in it for the effort-payoff ratio, because it's not like working a boring 9 to 5 and at a certain level, you can make ends meet by actually working only a few days a year.

These guys (wade, rod salka, alexander johnson) fill up space on a PBC undercard and give the drunk fans some background noise while they bide time waiting for the main event...but theyr'e not going places.

These guys serve a purpose...they're useful fodder. In that world, there's no professional pride. no competitive spirit. "heart" is a bad word, because "heart" can get you hurt. just offer the minimal effort you can, and when the going gets rough, just fold up and live to fight another day.

Wade is a 2008 undefeated Olympian and a Proud Black man. Do not put him in the same sentence as Salka or Johnson.

Some guys just aren't good and will never be world class thats the nature of the sport and wade is an example of that. Wade may have been a good amateur but that doesn't mean **** in the pro game. Who I blame for this farce are the sanctioning bodies who allow this **** wade had no business in the ring with ggg tonight.

Guys like Wade put in the same work as every other fighter. There are simply levels to this. Wade was not ready for this. And he was thrown in there to lose. Might as well take the beating now rather than later I guess. He's virtually a prospect. But, if Wade was the Errol Spence of the MW division he wouldn't have been in there with GGG tonight.

This. Wade was too green to be fighting anyone on GGG's level.

Dude he just made half a million dollars tonight. Who else would have paid him that? Got a shot at a belt and all.

How many unknown mandos did Manny fight? How about Money Mayweather, who avoided fighting other Black fighters to get bigger paydays with Latinos.

I **** on GGGs status amomust the internet but he is doing more for up and coming fighters than Oscar,Cotto,Pacquiao and Floyd put together. $200,000-$500,000 is a lot of money when you have never had it.

Chris Martin is a fighter like Wade.

Wade is just a very lucky guy. He somehow got a ranking with the IBF, he robs Soliman in an eliminator (thanks Al Gaymon), and then Johnson gets injured. After all that, the IBF still bump Wade as the mandatory. Golovkin was looking at a different opponent, namely Korobov.

In the end, you can thank Al Gaymon for this farce.

what "proud black man" gets *****slapped around the ring by ggg? gtfoh!.....even willie monroe, a clubfighter with no punch did better than wade. wade is the opposite of what you said, but it's aight...we have more than enough great, transcendent black warriors to make up for scrubs like wade. i hope he quits boxing, though...i would never pay to watch him fight again...he's got more a temperament to be history professor.
