Thinking Mosley was better than Napoles is on another plane of absurdity compared to thinking Watson was better than Ward.

They're not, though. At all. Mosley was a physical beast in his prime, not a technician. Napoles was a technician par excellence (as well as being a physical beast at Lightweight).

ward's slicker\cuter than Watson, but not as skilled or clean offensively. Both on the same rough level until i see more of ward to make me think otherwise, he could well move up another notch or two and refine things.I'd take Michael over him right now best version we've seen from both at 168.

Ward's like Mcgirt with sloppier less precise punching.Very good fighter, but hardly the next coming of Jones at 168 like some seem to be hoping for.

Napoles' seamless blend of offense and defense is much closer to the fighting style of fighters like Gato Gonzalez, Conteh or Canizales rather than the herky-jerky speedy slugger/boxer style of Mosley, in my opinion.

Not really, as his prime was his early welterweight days for me. He was a far more efficient and better fighter at that weight. Don't get me wrong, very good at lightweight, but losing so much weight hampered him. He struggled with the weight for a while. When he moved up in weight his hands were quicker. Yes, really. He wasn't in his physical prime at lightweight simply because he was larger than his opponents.

Anyone mentioned Kalambay? I've been watching a lot of him recently, and his performances against Graham and McCallum are something else. I've not watched either of the rematches yet, but by god he looked like an all-timer in his first encounter with The Body Snatcher. Outclassed the guy.

I'm not too sure if him being relieved of some of the weight draining was anymore beneficial to him than the size advantage he enjoyed at lightweight was though.

Look at the Rivera fight, that was the most unimpressive he had looked for a while, predictably of course against one of the better fighters he had fought in a while.Turgid performance and then of course he was reamed by Forrest who had the size over him.

Mosley's still likely to be a better h2h fighter against the field as a 135\140 fighter than a Welter imo.Even if he got a bit quicker again after moving up than he was in his latter 135 days, the size advantage and greater power would suit him better against more fighters than slightly more speed would. It's not as if he was slow at any time at 135.
