Who do you think was great at this? Or what great fighters were good at this? Azumah Nelson i think had this down to an artform. Wilfred Benitez could use it as a complete strategy. Bernard Hopkins, thoug he didn't stay there as the former mentions did, was/is in my opinion great at luring a man into the ropes and countering with devastating effect. Please add some insights if you have any.
Jones always looked very good at fighting of the ropes to me although he never stayed there for too long.

I think Robinson is not a bad shout, but he seemed to prefer to box his way out of there. Leonard could do it, though i'm not sure if we could labe him great at it. **** noone mentioned Ali!
Yeah they were, i always felt they would rather box in mid ring itself if they were choosing, but you are not wrong.
Wasn't Greg Page pretty good on the ropes? On the subject of the oversized, James Toney was very good at this.
