We're splitting ends here when it comes to the greatness of these two and it would show.
Monzon imo would build a convincing lead but would be taking some bad body shots, I see Monzon keeping Fitz at bay early on but falling prey to a combo he can't handle, later on when Fitz's body attack has took his toll.

    Fitz TKO11/12
Great match up tho. Props RU!

Fitzsimmons would out-Monzon Monzon. Stoppage rounds 13-15

Monzon would establish the range with his jab and 4 inch reach advantage and outpoint Fitz …. But if Fitz lands, even though Monzon was never stopped, could very well be lights out for Monzon … Monzon UD …. Yes a hell of a matchup RU and a fight that is for me impossible to predict ...

Whew, I lean towards Fitz as I think he can hurt Monzon, but I am persuaded by reasons for a Monzon win

Impossible to even begin to decipher given what we don't have on film. If a gun was put to my head? Well i sure know how good Monzon was.

That's the thing lack of film. I have all the Fitz books except Pollack's rt now and sure you can visualize things in your head while reading but without the films it's very hard to say. That's a big reason I have to lean towards Carlos. I'm also questioning if Fitz will carry the same power with 8oz gloves.
On a side note it's really ashame that we have so many great Latin fighters even just going back to the 50's and 60's and I cant think of one autobiography. The very thin amount of bio's arent very good sad to say. Durans was very lacking IMO to say the least

I find it crazy that there is no Bio of Canzoneri. There is a Bio of Midget Wolgast coming out though.

Theres 2 of McLarnin. I have one. Armstrong's autobiography was terrible. Theres a few on Ross. I have one of them although it's not his autobiography. Amber's needs one too.
Too many to list who I'd like to see books written about

I would have to lean towards Carlos Monzon to win a very close decision, it would not be a walk in the park by no means. Fitz does have the capability to hurt Carlos, which he does, brutal body shots to his rib cage, when cornered. Carlos's combinations spell the difference.

This is a really close one for Monzon IMO, though fraught with danger. I go with Monzon however due to his superior ring IQ and extreme cool under fire.

The more Bio's the better. So many interesting stories out there. I have no idea how Fitz would traverse the era's but i am extremely sceptical. Monzon almost by default for me.

Well Fitzs even in his time period was known for having a weirdly unique approach to Boxing technique (odd weight distribution and strategies etc). He seemed a very clever and strategic anomaly. He has his own book on physical culture that you can read for free.

I'd argue neither is an area where Fitz lacks at all.
