I don't get how people keep referring to Floyd as feather fisted and having no power.

Everyone saw what he did to Victor Ortiz right

Ortiz fought with huge punchers and never stayed down for a 10 count like he did with Floyd

Floyd's power gets overlooked since he has a great defense

But Floyd does have great power :good

He does, Mosley says he has as much power as Canelo and he didnt even fight Mayweather at JMW

As far as Ortiz goes he laid down after the brutal shot and was hard down giggling about it afterwards like the ***** he appears to be:deal

It was deadly at the lower weights. At 147 and up it's good enough to get people's respect.

His power isn't much more than average for a top level welterweight. It was nice and effective when he was at the lower weight classes..
He also hit Ortiz when he had his hands down, and had his focus some other place.

    Floyd has power:

    1. He has the virtually the same knockout percentage as Pacquiao.
    2. Floyd has a defensive style - Defensive fighters do not get to exercise frequent big shots. Think of Nicolino Locche for example, he has over 100 wins but about 15KO's and looks virtually the same as Mayweather.
    3. When Floyd fought Cotto toe-to-toe, thus resembling a style more like an offensive fighter, Cotto stated Mayweather hits harder than Pacquiao.
    4. Mosley said that a relatively hard hitting Canelo at 154lbs hits as hard as Mayweather at 147lbs.

Mayweather can KO if he wants to.

He was considered a power puncher 140 and below

147 seems to be a tad to heavy for him to properly stop opponents

No one says he doesn't have power, he has brittle hands and does not have one punch KO power but he has power just like Hatton or Pacquiao.

He had decent power at the lower weights and is still far from featherfisted nowadays even if he is not the biggest puncher

Floyd is like a modern day Thomas Hearns.

Had deadly power in the lower weights, decent power at the higher ones.

just wondering....if margo offered his chin to floyd's fist (like mayorga to forrest or campbell to peden), what do you think happens to margo's chin or floyd's fist??

I always felt his power was better than Manny's, Manny never had one punch fight changing power like Floyd once possesed, his angles and accumulation was what troubled people, if it wasnt for Hatton, would Pacquiao power be touted so highly????
