Has mayweather proved that he can rally like a Ray leonard, or have all his kos come from his defensive, counter punching ability
Floyd has morphed his style completely over the last few years, but he still shows glimpses of being able to mix his punches together beautifully. As far as the Ray Leonard comparison is concerned, I don't believe Floyd had/has the ability to stop opponents in the matter that Ray did as he is a slightly inferior fighter to Leonard. Not only that, but his style just doesn't allow him to accomplish this. He does however have one of the best abilities to transition from offense to defense and vise versa that I have ever seen. He has the ability to come forward and mix his punches and get guys out of there, though we haven't seen it recently. He can change angles and his ability to feint his opponents into shots in extraordinary.
Ray Leonard is possibly the greatest finisher of all time. I think certainly at the lighter weights Floyd was a monster and had great offence, but very few men in history are on Leonards level when it comes to ability to string punches.
He dose not throw a lot of punches but he's more agresive than giving credit for. He took the fight not only to Mosley but De La Hoya and Gatti as well.
Hes actually been more aggressive in recent fights as a welterweight. Mayweather has never been particularly big for a welterweight so I think he was forced to fight a bit more defensive against the bigger guys.
he integrates all parts of boxing so well its hard to decipher whether he is in counterpunch mode or attack mode....he has shown he can hurt fighters on the front foot and back foot...he is a bit underrated offensively becuase of his defensiive acumen but he is very adept at attacking.....the shots Mosley took would have fell alot of fighters, the Gatti fight was crazy brutal, and just watch em pre-welterweight to appreciate his offensive skills, he is the most skilled fighter i have seen since pernell whitaker who was also underrated offensively and changed his style as well when moving up in weight
