Hi all, As some of you may know, I live in Puerto Rico and Floyd was in the island for Vacations this weekend. A good friend of mine which is close with Floyd and his camp just told me that Floyd's plans are fighting Manny next year and that he would take the rest of the year off. There were som rumors that he would fight Cotto, but he said those were lies. Don't know if he is saying this right now and will change his mind later down the road or if he is saying this to make people think something and then do another thing. But the fact is from a decent source who spent alot of time with the champ during the weekend.
Yea I heard from his camp that Floyd will wait and see the outcome of Pac vs Margo. If Margo does some serious damage to Pac in that fight, Floyd will consider the fight next year. But if Pac beats Margo, Floyd said he will continue with his plan of 2 yrs off.
Yeah, I know how you guys feel... I feel the same when people post these kinds of threads.... Info comes from a friend of mine which is close with the Mayweather camp. I don't know if he is a fan of boxing, but I do know he is close with Floyd's camp, because he spent almost all weekend in Puerto Rico with them. He just showed me the pictures/video of some of the stuff they did during Floyd's vacations in PR. But like I said... I don't know if Floyd will change his mind or if he just says it to deceive people. I'm just telling what he told me, because as soon as I saw the pictures I asked him about it.
hate to say it but ure right. I was backing up Floyd in this fiasco even though i dont like him. Dude just wants to make money the easy way, similar to Pac fighting dudes with handicaps though.
year off , 2 years. all depends what happens between now and then. If Manny completely decapitates Margo don't expect Floyd to jump in there with him, especially with a year lay off. plus the negotiations are going to be worse. Floyd will demand a bigger split of the purse, which Manny probably won't agree to. The fight won't ever happen.
i don't know. It'll probably do decent, better then Clottey. It won't really change anything as far as negotiations go .
