This is where I have a problem, you say his chin is cast iron and then you say someone like Maidana won't test it either. Guess what, if it doesn't get tested how do you know how good it is? He could be in the ring with Foreman and if Foreman doesn't hit him, that doesn't mean he has a cast iron chin.

Hearns is the absolute worst possible match up there is for Floyd.

    1. We both agree it should've been ruled a knock down and I even said that, so why put so much emphasis on it? You're preaching to the choir. You just made it sound like a monstrous punch or that Floyd's chin was bad when it was neither of those. The thread is about his chin, not what should've been ruled a KD or a slip, you're getting off topic FAST.

    2. Shane isn't featherfisted, you made it sound like Shane barely touched him when you said "38 year old SHOT Mosley touched him JUST 1 TIME". When it was perfectly timed over hand right that landed flush, add to the fact that Floyd didn't see it coming and he gets hurt.

    3. Back peddling CAN definitely be a sign you're hurt, I didn't say it wasn't. Each fight and fighter is different. I think Shane hurt Floyd, but Corley only got his attention, Judah didn't hurt him, he only got his attention. He back peddles because when he's surprised by a punch, he's vulnerable to more punches. Shane almost knocked his ass out and he didn't even back peddle there.

His chin is iron. Watch his reflexes & how he takes good shots. He's been hit with some.

What is your chin made of anyways? Spinach?

I made the thread a while ago. I'm not actually 100% sure about how it is. I have a feeling he struggles to deal with a HUGE shot, like if someone like Cotto could catch him full on, but let's face it; Mayweather's chin is like wondering if you could take a bullet to the head and survive, if you were standing behind bulletproof glass. The bullet will never hit you, so why wonder?

Cotto doesn't hit as hard as Mosley. Cotto ko's people through attrition, he doesn't have one punch ko power.

Well if I'm right Mosley is like the only guy in recent times to land a clean cut punch on him, and it did hurt May a bit so it only kind of shows what I mean. Maidana doesn't have the power to get to him regardless.

mental toughness, the ability to react in critical situations. something you biased ass, refuses to see!! why, did manny launch himself like a rocket into a ko punch. why, does floyd not do that? why is floyd judged against hearns?

He could not backpeddle even if he wanted to , he was too staggered and busy holding on to Shanes arm for dear life .

I never said Mosley was featherfisted . Im just making it clear he was clearly past his prime when he finally met up with Floyd , and the fact that he was Shot and STILL almost knocked Mayweathers ass out speaks volumes on Floyds Chin .

His chin was exposed that night , Shane showed everyone what that chin truly is made of when you get past that defense .

    Not even close .

Its a very average chin .

Oscar Delahoya on the other hand....

Now that right there is an fine example of an Iron Chin .

Actually, it shows that Mayweather can take a helluva shot. The last thing a puncher loses is his punching power. Ask Moorer about old, shot Foreman's punching power. Shane may have been shot but that first right hand that he landed on Mayweather would have put just about any other welterweight on the canvas.

He's been hurt but never down. What evidence do you have that it is not iron?

Perhaps RJJ chin is better? :huh
What boxer hasn't been hurt, c'mon now...do you even watch boxing? :think

    Disagree .

    I don't see it that way .

Funny , Shane had 5 more fights after his loss to Floyd . Yet he never manage to stagger or buckle anyone else with his punches and they were lesser opposition compared to Floyd .

Nope , That punch would have not put any other WW on the canvas

I can see many WWs withstanding that punch .

Devon Alexander could have absorbed that shot .

Tim Bradley could have absorbed that shot

Joshua Clottey could have absorbed that shot .

Miguel Cotto absorb way more than 2 punches , he took bombs from an even younger Mosley and he was never even close to being hurt .

Poor Caliber opponents like Cruz and Estrada went the distance with a Prime Sugar Shane , took everything he had (Which was a lot more than 2 punches) yet were never close to being hurt at all .

How come they weren't hugging and squeezing on to Shanes Arm after he repeatedly rocked em ???

That tells you theres Nothing special at all about Floyds chin , Its very average .
