Anyone have a complete career list of knockdowns (not just a total number, although that would be interesting, but how many times against each fighter that put him down)?

Surely no other heavyweight champ ever spent as much time on the canvas, but I'd like to know the entire ledger.

Liston had him down three times I believe. Ingo had him down 9. Ali had him down once. IDK about the rest. I'll take a look.

    Yes thats an interesting questinon.

However, I believe Leon Spinks was on the canvas more times and often against far lower level of competition :good

Add pete rademacher. I think Floyd was down 20 times.

Klitschko was down at least 10 times. At least.

Of course one way to avoid getting a lot of career knockdowns is to stay down and get counted out!

Quarry put him down once or twice in their fights.

Blackie Sherrod of the Dallas Times Herald called him "Falling Floyd" Patterson.

Another site said Patterson was down 20 times in his career.

    Royer Crecy x1, Rademacher x1, Johansson x7+2, Liston x1+3, Ali x1, Quarry x2+2, Bonavena x1 makes 21. Any more?

He was down more than that.
He was down 20 or 21 times as champion.

Some of those knock downs were breathers when he needed to take a break.

Ezzard Charles was down 30 times in his career, though not all of them were at heavyweight, I think.

No he wasn't. Although the majority of his knockdown did come as a champion.
