Whitaker was as happy to initiate the action as he was to look for counterpunching opportunities. This narrative of him being this boring, safety-first slickster isn't accurate.

He was far more entertaining to watch than Mayweather's been in the last decade or so.

 

Seems like a lot of people here never watched Sweet Pea fight.

 

You beat me to it. Sweet Pea did not fight his whole career off the back foot. It's a narrative that has gained more steam since people started comparing Floyd to him.

 

It would be like 2 snipers sat waiting at opposite ends of the map on call of duty. Terrible fight.

Mayweather wins on points. Has more offensive weapons along with the height and reach advantage.


Pernell is the same size as Pacquiao, he would have just as much trouble getting close enough to land anything on Floyd.

I think sweet pea would have beat him. Both great fighters but sweet pea never got the aclaim is talent deserved
