My current trainers are on there last legs, Im new to boxing and dont want to be one of those people who has all the gear but no idea (you know the types) Its not a fashion parade and whilst if your a fighter there the tools of your trade for someone like me im just gonna end up looking like I know what im doing but not if you see what I mean. Is there any footwear that are not boxing boots which you would say would be a good buy?

    Honestly... Buy boxing boots

Even the cheap ones are better than trainers, for the ankle support.

You legs will do alot of work, piviting on punches, movement around the ring.

You need to be solid on the ground in order to maximise your punch effectiveness.

    Socks and sandals...

Honestly if you have a sports shop nearby which sell boxing boots go and try a few pairs on..

which ever feel most comfortable and light and have a decent price get them.

Think of them like football boots...

I'd spend no more than £35 ($50) on them if your just starting out
