Well I'm amazed ,that no one has mentioned him yet,I thought I would be clever and avoid the obvious ,but have taken the bait now.

Guys like Rodolfo Gonzalez and Orlando Canizales used great footwork to work off of angles, which they were among the best at. Willie Pastrano and Ralph Dupas were of a similar style to Pep and used very graceful and effective footwork/angles as well. A lot of guys have had really good, tidy footwork, most of the top technicians I'd say.

Willie Pastrano's fleet footwork, when coupled with his super fast, accurate jab was a great, relatively forgotten master, and is rarely mentioned when the great lightheavy's are discussed. Maybe you might say "that's because he wasn't a great lightheavy", but you would only be partially right. Pastrano had it all, but was doomed forever to be the quintessential "safety first" classic boxer, mainly due to his passionate, almost pathological fear of getting hit, since he figured it would screw up his avocation of being a "lady's man" when he wasn't in the ring.

    SEVERAL fighters...

I recently re watched Sanchez vs Lopez II. Sanchez's footwork and movement was brilliant that night.

Nice post. Pastrano was definitely a great fighter in my book, and the very definition of a pure boxer.
