If on the night when Firpo knocked dempsey flying out of the ring, it was foreman in there would jack have even have got back in to the ring never mind fought back?? And it's the prime foreman here.

Dempsey would certainly have got back in. He had heart, unquestionably.

Whether he could beat a prime Foreman h2h is debatable.

I think that he'd have the speed and skills to maybe outbox him, but Dempsey liked to go to war too much and I think Foreman is too big and brutal, with too hard a chin for Dempsey to blow out here. Jack knew the tricks and had the repertoire to be a great boxer, but I get the feeling that once his blood was up he'd charge into a thresher to show it who was boss.

I suspect that he would have been more cautious against Foreman.

Hard to tell with Jack, he could have played it carefully darting in and out, jabbing and rolling . Try to tire George out later and then pile in like he does best. Or if he's tagged and hurt could lose it and try to go head to head. I feel that moving and lateral would work best here. Keeping a cool head, tie George up in clinches and allow George to blow out, then Jack can strike..

If George gets him on the ropes, it is over.

And George gets him on the ropes.

Could Jack have gotten knocked out of the ring by George and get back in and take care of business? Against the man who got decked by powder-punching Young? Against the guy who almost got knocked out by slow-as-molasses Lyle? Sure he could!

The Young fight was a Prime Foreman?

Well, then, so was the Flynn fight.

George Foreman was 28 when he lost to Young.

I would be surprised if Dempsey ever losed to foreman...Dempsey was too quick and dangerous for foreman IMO....in prime foreman was slow I've seen him...if Dempsey is the fighter I think he is , he would take foreman apart...if not then bye bye
