I’m one of the few that actually enjoy his calls. Doesn’t need to describe every single fkn punch being thrown unlike today’s comms teams for the most part. Sure he got some calls wrong but I enjoyed his style. A man of his time I guess.
An unbridled Lyle likely landed his hardest punches ever on George. Lyle didn’t always seem to utilise his power to it’s full potential (confidence issues?) - but he did in this fight and he also unloaded big time on Shavers when his back was to the wall.
I love his calls but if you aren’t actually watching the fight and are just relying on Cosell to paint a picture of what is going on then you’d have not a single clue as to how the fight is playing out.
