Is you Frampton ready to step up to European level? he hasnt won a British title yet?

Fastracked, Khan was slated for avoiding the traditional route. hmmm

Theres no reason why a fighter of Framptons ability cannot do his learning at European title level if the British & Commonwealth is wrapped up. DeGale is doing the same thing.

Stylisticly Martinez is made to make Frampton look a million dollars.

If only the other top prospects like Frankie Gavin just jumped ahead.

also more fighters fail when they take the traditional route.

Carl has little to lose and everything to gain in taking on Martinez imo.

There's a difference between this and what Khan did. The commonwealth is not on par with the European, nor Lawton and co. on par with Kiko.

Lennox Lewis won the European before the British. No reason why Carl can't do the same.

Yes i know that, but the guy who made the thread said why is he not going down the traditional route, it is not exactly the traditional route for an irish fighter to win the british.

what difference does it make really?

the British title is tied up until at least the beginning of next year, Frampton wants to up his level of competition so the EBU title is the next logcial step.

Nah he lost by 1 point on 2 cards. That's twice as bad as you thought! ;)

Plus he lost to an ugly ginger kid so ya know.. that's gotta lose a few boxrec points for James.
