This makes me think back to all the cable shows from the 80s broadcast from Atlantic City:

Ring Announcer Ed Darien: "Introducing your referee Frank Capucheeenoo. And introducing the principals.............."

I wonder if Darien is still alive

Cappuccino showed compassion in the ****ey/Spinks fight, although he arguably let it go too long

"You're taking too many shots Gerry."

That's what I think of when I hear Cappuccino's name. "You're taking too many shots, Gerry."

Cappuccino letting fights play out themselves is what made Gatti-Ward 1 a classic.

    RIP

What a shame. Good ref...another link with all the good memories of boxing's past gone...getting old, all of us.

RIP, and sympathies to his family.

You know you're getting old when the the era you started watching boxing is referred to as "boxing's past." To me, it doesn't seem that long ago! :deal

RIP FC, one of the classic figures of 80s boxing.
