Mir is living in a fantasyworld. He is clearly still rattled by the Carwin loss, and believes he can't compete with guys like Shane and Lesnar anymore. But he is no lightheavyweight. He would be at his best around 240lbs, and should concentrate on being a quick, neat striker, and an excellent ground-fighter at that weight. That's the best fighter he can be, there's no point in draining down to 205 to try and fight the middleweight champion because he has suffered two bad losses.

Frank is probably thinking of going to 220 then drying out. I don't blame him that when he stands next to fighters like Ortiz and Griffin that he feels he could make 205. Those are big mother ****ers.

Mir vs Vera II at 205 would be great. Both are coming off of a loss and Vera has a win over him.

Watched the weigh in of Brock vs Mir II yesterday and Mir looked in sick shape at 245.

Mir did look in insane shape when he weighed in for Brock the second time. He's just not strong enough to get a mack truck body like Lesnar's off him on the ground.

Well im glad that Frank has dropped the strength and conditioning program he put in place for Kongo & Carwin , on the 205 thing i dont think he honestly beleives he's a LHW , Franks a HW , a small one at that but he's a HW like it or lump it .

His confidence must be really low at the moment , he's just decisiveley been beaten up twice by two of the monsters in the HW division (obvioulsy with a very good win in between .............. but still) , its got to be hard for a man like Mir to take , he's gotta know that these are the people he needs to be beating to make a dent in todays HW division , a little bit like Big Nog at the moment too , once a force , now seems to be somewhat irrelevant .

Id like to see Mir come back in the cage the shape he was in for Lesnar 2 , thats the best Frank Mir we have ever seen physically IMO , and if Frank is physically right then the talents he has will kick in , he's always gonna be a weak wrestler and he's always gonna be smaller than these guys but hey thats the way of the world , i wanna see Mir back as soon as poss im a massive Mir fan and i want to see him back ASAP !!!!!

After his recent bulking up, he now wants to drop to 205lbs? I don't like the sound of that.

He should find a weight he's comfortable at and stick with it, probably around 245-250lbs.

Great to hear Frank talk as always. Frank isnt saying hes going down he says he has time off and wants to stop lifting and really see where his weight falls at. Im with I think Mir might be thinking off getting to 220 and drying out to 205 which many fighters already do. Frank looked alittle smaller in that interview and I wont put nothing past him if you told me 3 years ago Wanderlei would make 185 or even Vitor id say no way but look at them now. Mir is already so quick and agile as a Heavyweight and has developed good punching power and his submissions are already so strong imagine him as a healthy 205 pounder.

Insane shape? I thought he looked like 260lbs of chewed gum. Mir needs to concentrate on his strengths instead of getting caught up trying to play a super heavys game. He's not a striker. The sooner he realises this the better. As for any talk of moving down to 205 thats insanity.

235-240 and he's golden. Mir is dangerous.

He's not winning the title at 205.

Mir will be the 205lb walking corpse with no legs as was Chris Byrd at LHW a few years back. The man is not Brandon Vera and has a larger frame.

Can someone tell me who he trains with or what team he belongs to? Maybe he should start there.

I think he is just an evolving athlete who continously assesses his game, his future, the possibilities etc He isn't ultra talented so he has to adapt. I think he is doing the right thing.

It would be great if he could get down to 205 and win the belt. It would be hard but I can see his thinking.
