One thing for sure after Thurman's boxing masterclass in a shutout win against Bundu, who looked fringe world class at best is that Frankie Gavin as i thought is well of world class and not remotely near the level of someone like Kell Brook. What is peoples thoughts?

Why do we pick on our own fighters?

Well,Skeete is a very good British championship level fighter who if he got the right opponent could possibly win a European title. Frank lost, justifiably I think,to a very good European champion who acquitted himself at world class very well. To a possible future world champion. No disgrace for Frankie. He's still done very well. But at the top level,he just doesn't have the TALENT.

The reason people keep using that word about him is he won a world amateur title. Great achievement. But according to the commentator last night Bundu won 3 of them. So how talented is he,especially for a man of 40?

    Agreed.

Frankie's amateur career has flattered him I'm afraid.

Outstanding as it was, it's in the past. Besides, no need to harp on about it if you can't decisively beat the likes of Skeete (which he should be doing).

Gavin just hung around at British level for too long.

It's an individual sport, isn't it? I'm more puzzled why there is such pressure to have to support someone who hails from some part of the same land mass as you. It's not something that translates to, say, soccer, where I expect half of you support a team crammed full of foreigners.
