Anyone know much about him? Just seen his bout with Hisao Minami, and it is very interesting. Here it is, great KO BTW. Thanks to McGrain for uploading it, also. He appears almost like a turn of the century bareknuckle boxer with his stance and hand placement, yet he is still brutally effective. Fromthe get go, he stylistically looks like a great puncher, everything is set for power with him, although he is surprisingly quick and agile. His jab was very, very solid, rocking Minami's headback with ease, but the jab was also very quick. And what can be said about that right hand, just brutal. Defensivly he looks terrible, but he seems to be fairly decent. He avoids punches well by leaning back, although that is a big no-no, I tink the detterrent of his power helps him get away with it, as no-one wants to spend that long in front of him. And he has some very awkward, but fast, angle changes with his feet to avoid shots, however this does appear to leave him off-balance. Is there any more footage of him floating about? Anyone else got anything to add on his style etc..? Also with a breif look through his career he seems to have fought good competition and was a pretty good champion, and seems to have been jobbed against Mazzinagi. Anyone shed more light on his career?
I'd really like to see footage of him in with a better opponent. Not a whole lot to go on besides his jab and KO power in this vid. How would he have reacted defensively (or offensively for that matter) against an opponent who didn't pop around waiting for his head to be bobbled repeatedly by the jab? I'd like to see his fight with Hayward if it's around. All that aside, apparently he's a gym teacher these days. Check out the comments on that vid.
Yeh Minami wasnt really much, and looked like a KO waiting to happen. ****ing hell, you wouldnt want to mess around in his class. I had heard he was a teacher during his title reign, not sure if that was true though, but since he is a teacher now I think it may be.
His jab looks completely different than anyone elses ive seen. Something about it but I cant figure it out.
