Probably, wouldn't surprise me. Such a let down ending to a great fight.

I don't think so in the first, but I see your point and it's valid considering the stoppage.

Yup. Carl was hurt more there than groves was at the stoppage.

He was more hurt than Groves ever was. Using the Howard Foster Method, I consider this fight a 1st round TKO win for Groves.

Ref would have looked into George's eyes and waved it off.

Don't think they'd want to end a PPV that early on myself...in the 9th is another matter.
Not debating that the knockdown was more serious than the stoppage at all, mind.

groves was turned with his back to froch and slumped over then ended up sitting on the ropes on the other side of the ring. good stoppage and if it wasn't stopped then, it would've been seconds later

That could have and should have ended the fight, that first knockdown.

In slow-motion, look at Carl's eyes and body - He is absolutely gone.

Knockdown reminded me of stevenson - dawson, except dawson, the champion didn't get to continue in that instance.

Have to agree with others - if Froch was allowed to continue from that then the same chance should have been granted to Groves for his "knockdown", no favours or decisions based on reputation.
