I’ve watched it,good banter between the both of them. Froch should be a pundit on more of the fight cards,he just says it how it is is,he’s certainly not a Company man like the rest of them .
Froch's biggest problem is that he thinks he is still 25 years old and can take on the world. In reality he is a middle aged man on PEDs, has had a nose job and Botox who can't let go of his youth or past glory. If he ever did an exhibition he would probably get "ironed out"
Froch was very underrated a lot of his career-he was a real fan friendly fighter, tough as they come - he would have been a regular on these Saudi/ring cards we’ve been getting no doubt- and to me he comes across as quite bitter that he missed out on the Saudi ££££££, he knows there’s been some guys getting paid well above their worth He had some massive nights and I know he ain’t skint by any means but I think he craves a bit more attention and ££££££, that’s what I’m seeing anyway
He made big money in the Groves fight He could have made alot fighting Chavez Jr or GGG but he bottled it. His exit from the sport came at the time when Matchroom were just beginning to get massive and get stadium fights. Froch was at the peak of his momentum but he decided to retire. He only has himself to blame.
I wonder of you watched the episode? He cones across much more thoughtful these days, Allen brings some good observations and admissions out of him. Froch v Calazaghe prime v prime would have been a banger for sure.
Froch has matured a lot recently but mostly because he realised how bitter he sounded when discussing other UK fighters and the backlash he rightfully received over it. I remember how he used to absolutely revel in taking about Joshua's and Khan's losses. The bitterness was so palpable it was pathetic.
Everyone changes. I find it really interesting that for some that attitude is a massive part of what made them the champion and kind of fighter they are. I remember reading an interview with Holyfield where he showed the reporter around his new mansion in Atlanta, showing him his pool, his gym, his games room and each time he ended with 'Do you swim? I'd beat you' 'Do you play pool? I'd beat you' and on and on. It was his makeup, inconceivable to him that he might lose. There are a few parts of the episode I posted that show that mentality in Froch in comparison to Allen's and I found it illuminating and interesting. Its not something you can just switch off because you no longer fight.
True, and like I say I know he ain’t skint (I think he invested heavily in property?) But I think he (quite rightly) feels that he was a better fighter with a more fan friendly style than some of these young divas getting paid an absolute fortune and as such he’s a little bit bitter about it
