Froch & Bute

Yeah he probably had a couple sympathy wanks with curtains closed and gillette soccer saturday on in background after he found out Bute beat the all conquering Brinkley....

Froch is a warrior, he fight anyone, he don't fear no man, he may moan but he takes on the best. Bute holds no fear for the Cobra!!!

 

This would be a great fight, i'm still not sold on Bute. No way is he the best at 168. I would give Carl a good chance if they fought now, a couple of years and Froch's punch resistance will have faded.

 

aparently Bute had crazy demands to come to England.

 

Can't imagine why... oh wait, we saw with the Dirrell fight!

Dirrell did nothing to impress. If you score rounds on the number of times a fighter complains about being hit and falls to the canvas to avoid punches, be my guest, Dirrell clearly won on that front.

Froch has fought away against Taylor, in Kessler's own backyard and now away from home again - albeit on neutral ground - against Abraham.

Bute has been fighting at home against lower-levels of opposition than that. Let him leave his home comforts for a change. The fight would draw big anymore, not just in Montreal.

 

Don't get so serious. It was a horrid close fight, but Froch did get something of a gift on the scorecards. I agreed with the point deduction for Dirrell. Other than for that, I'd have had it a draw. Froch couldn't and Dirrell wouldn't.

But I don't subscribe that Bute should leave Canada just to make the fans happy. If it makes more money and he's the major draw (which he likely is), then I think he's entitled to do that. Froch is a superstar in his own bedroom.

What has Froch got to challenge Bute with? Bute's tough, slippery when he wants to be, and those body-punches and left uppercuts are debilitating weapons. His right hook's good too.

Everytime Froch tried to open up, he'd end up getting clipped by the left hand. And when he does that weird spear-chucking thing after throwing his jab: there's a left hand going to the ribs.

 

At the time Froch was making more money on Nottingham than Bute in Canada. Thats why it was proposed for the UK.

 

I remember it at the time. I think it would have been a close fight then. Bute's come on a lot since.

 

agree with this. I had it a draw. Dirrell has round where he literally did nothing. At least Froch was attempting to engage.

 

Would love to see this fight.

 

He has looked good, but how would Froch have looked against Brinkley, Miranda and Andrade, and how would Bute have looked against Froch's last 3 opponents.

I think he's been overrated a bit because he's winning (easier) fights so convincingly, and guys in the Super 6 are going life and death with each other.

As was said though, I can't see Froch lasting many more of these fights without starting to slide.

 

I guess it's a matter of levels. Yeah they're b-level guys but he's getting them out of there (also, for the record I think Andrade would have given Froch fits) emphatically. Froch was having wars with fairly mediocre guys and looked more than a little crap against Robin Reid.

I don't think Froch's much worse than Bute or anything - I just think Bute's style and current performances mean he'd win.
